Resumen del Editor

One year ago, Sarah Palin burst onto the national political stage like a comet. Yet even now, few Americans know who this remarkable woman really is.

As chief executive of America's largest state, Sarah Palin had built a record as a reformer who pushed through changes other politicians only talked about: energy independence, ethics reform, and the biggest private-sector energy infrastructure project in U.S. history. While revitalizing public school funding and ensuring the state met its responsibilities to seniors and Alaska Native populations, Palin also brought Big Oil to heel.

She was a Main Street American woman: a working mom, wife of a blue-collar union man, and the mother of five children. But as the presidential campaign unfolded, Palin became a lightning rod for both praise and criticism. And few knew the real Sarah Palin.

In this eagerly anticipated memoir, Palin paints an intimate portrait of growing up in the wilds of Alaska; meeting her lifelong love; her decision to enter politics; the importance of faith and family; and the unique joys and trials of life as a high-profile working mother. She also opens up for the first time about the 2008 presidential race, providing a rare, mom's-eye view of high-stakes national politics - from patriots dedicated to "Country First" to slick politicos bent on winning at any cost.

Going Rogue traces one ordinary citizen's extraordinary journey, and imparts Palin's vision of a way forward for America and her unfailing hope in the greatest nation on earth.

GoingRogue

It was nice to hear Sarah's side of the story. I have never trusted or liked Katie Couric and her extreme bias style of reporting. Sarah does many things right and with her constituents in mind. She does need more experience of foreign policy and world issues but, like anyone, that takes time and good sources. I believe she has this available to her.

This book is a good read.

Common sense, wit and humor - what a relief it is.

No wonder she is making the grim-faced dwarfs in the leftist media foam at the mouth. Mrs. Palin has all that liberal intellectuals so sorely lack: good looks, poise, common sense, wit, imagination, and irreverent humor about the business of politic. She can count on my vote for the Top Job in 2012 or sooner. Maybe, if the Republicans could manage to come up with something along the lines of Acorn, I would not hesitate to go into the trouble of racking up several voter registrations. And, for the liberal pollsters' info, I have a college degree and no red neck.

Breath of Fresh Air

Although I don't agree with everything the book contains it was wonderful listening to Ms. Palin narrating in her own words and inflections how she viewed her life as it evolved into the media frenzy we have been witnessing over the last 2 years. She seems to be genuine and truly is a breath of fresh air as compared to the well-scripted starch-infested politicians we see every day.

Her vernacular is fun to listen to and makes it feel as though she is "one of us" or at least "one of me". We can all learn from her passion for family and country as we struggle through the next several years trying to get this country back on the road our forefathers wanted it to travel. Liberalism, or progressiveness as they wish to call it today, from both sides of the aisle is destroying our fundamental right of self rule. Ms. Palin is a throw-back to the days when we provided for ourselves, cared for our family and helped our fellow man in need.

I wish her and her family the best and hope to see great things from her in the future.

You cannot get the truth any clearer.

Fantastic!
This person has it all together plus to be President the The United States.
She has more experience, expertise and common sense than all the people serving in the Executive now.

In her own words

She not only wrote it, she spoke it. Listening to this book will remind you of those times when we had statesmen and women serving us. Sarah Palin's account of things is all the more believeable because she not only wrote it down for the record, she spoke it. Who, among her accusers and detractors, was also willing to go "on the record" in either print or recording? Exactly. None.

Like a 454 Ruger Alaskan!

Sarah surprised me. She is candid, down to earth, and real. I suppose that is at least partly her cachet in certain circles. A good listen. She is certainly no Cormac McCarthy or even Glenn Beck, but then ..... who is?

I have a feeling she has a lot more sludge bubbling, simmering just under the surface. Awaiting with up on the bit anticipation her next foray into the literature of political punctilio.

Refreshing Honesty

This was a great audio book read by the author. Sometimes these fall short and would be better read by another reader, but in this case, Sarah Palin adds credibility to the words. She is so sincere in her reading, which makes it feel like she is having a direct conversation with each listener. Sarah is open and honest and comes across as an above average person living an average American family life by choice. She lives her convictions, which is rare today.

Needed unabridged

Abridged version jumped around too much. Was very difficult to follow in places. Enjoyed hearing Sarah read her book. Just wish it had been unabridged version.
