Maddox foolishly believes we need any rules when we’re simply going to Japan to meet my extended family. What’s he think we’re going to do? Run into a serial killer? Like that would ever happen (let’s pretend it didn’t happen recently).

We’re going to relax, see the sights, spend some romantic nights together, try not to fret about meeting my family… and stop someone from being killed. (Weirdly, that last one wasn’t on the itinerary.)

When my cousin’s boyfriend shows up surrounded by ghosts, I wonder whether it’s some kind of premonition of what’s to come. The ghosts are unresponsive and fixated on their target, making Maddox and me question if we’re working against the clock to save this man. The two of us discover a disturbing pattern of people haunted by ghosts who are predicting their imminent death, and we’re swept into danger. Far from home, we’re left relying on my found family of rather unique ghosts who would risk their lives for me… if they still had lives to risk.

Maybe Maddox needs to change his rules a bit.

4th novel in series!

Surprised & happy to get to read a 4th installment. Fun to get back in with the characters from the series.

This series is the best

I would read (listen) to 20 books in this series of she wrote that many. I absolutely adore all of the characters and *spoiler*

Story keeps getting better. We need the story to continue, felt like there’s more to it. Include Zion to the adventure and Spite’s mystery locket.

I love these characters!

Sometimes the banter goes on too long. I love the banter between the characters, but sometimes it goes on too long and I just want the story to move on. Reggie can he a little much. I know he is supposed to be extra and annoying, but sometimes he really gets on my nerves and I want to tune him out.

Such a great listen!

I loved this book! The mystery was intriguing and kept me off balance right to end. Speaking of which, I found the ending to be both whip-bang thrilling and sweetly emotional. Well done!

Throughout this story, I adored the way Alice revealed more of Hiro and Maddox’s respective dark pasts, all while still maintaining the zingy character interactions and laugh out loud moments she is known for.

Greg B was wonderful, as always, on the narration. I appreciated that his narration of the Japanese characters never veered into stereotype. Fantastic job!
