Maddox foolishly believes we need any rules when we’re simply going to Japan to meet my extended family. What’s he think we’re going to do? Run into a serial killer? Like that would ever happen (let’s pretend it didn’t happen recently).

We’re going to relax, see the sights, spend some romantic nights together, try not to fret about meeting my family… and stop someone from being killed. (Weirdly, that last one wasn’t on the itinerary.)

When my cousin’s boyfriend shows up surrounded by ghosts, I wonder whether it’s some kind of premonition of what’s to come. The ghosts are unresponsive and fixated on their target, making Maddox and me question if we’re working against the clock to save this man. The two of us discover a disturbing pattern of people haunted by ghosts who are predicting their imminent death, and we’re swept into danger. Far from home, we’re left relying on my found family of rather unique ghosts who would risk their lives for me… if they still had lives to risk.

Maybe Maddox needs to change his rules a bit.

4th novel in series!

Surprised & happy to get to read a 4th installment. Fun to get back in with the characters from the series.

This series is the best

I would read (listen) to 20 books in this series of she wrote that many. I absolutely adore all of the characters and *spoiler*

Incredible 4th book!

I absolutely love Hero and Maddox. Getting to dive into a new adventure with them and the whole crew is fantastic. Honestly so funny and also keeps you wanting to know what’s happening… I loved this book and the travel and storyline hooked me. This was a must read and must-listen. 5 stars.

Amazing performance with hysterical characters

This is another great addition to this series. While I didn't like the plot as much as the previous books, I love the time I get to spend with Maddox, Hero, and their hilarious ghost army. The banter between Maddox and Hero is fantastic. The insanity that the ghosts bring adds joy to my day. I really didn't understand the villain in this book or that storyline that hopped back and forth across continents. So much of it didn't make sense and there were too many victims that quickly got tied together in a few chapters. My takeaway was that Hero’s powers are growing and he really needs to find a mentor. All in all it was a fun, enjoyable, book, but not the strongest in the series.

I love these characters!

Sometimes the banter goes on too long. I love the banter between the characters, but sometimes it goes on too long and I just want the story to move on. Reggie can he a little much. I know he is supposed to be extra and annoying, but sometimes he really gets on my nerves and I want to tune him out.

Such a great listen!

I loved this book! The mystery was intriguing and kept me off balance right to end. Speaking of which, I found the ending to be both whip-bang thrilling and sweetly emotional. Well done!

Throughout this story, I adored the way Alice revealed more of Hiro and Maddox’s respective dark pasts, all while still maintaining the zingy character interactions and laugh out loud moments she is known for.

Greg B was wonderful, as always, on the narration. I appreciated that his narration of the Japanese characters never veered into stereotype. Fantastic job!

Totally made my day

I had a long drive, and was perusing Audible for something to listen to. I came across this book and squealed, I was so excited to find the fourth book in this series. This series is one of my favorites and I’m so pleased that the narrator is amazing!! He does all the voices, so it’s clear who is talking!! I recommend both the book and the narrator often! The book was excellent, I’m already waiting for the next book!!

This book has a focus on families - both healthy and toxic - and how they affect who we are. Mixed in are Hiro’s ghosts, murder, and so much snark and banter. I love this pair and the family they’ve found (alive and dead)! There are threads left that need at least one more book to wrap up, but this ends very solidly.

Simply one of the best!

Great story with suspense and humor. Highly recommended the whole series! The Narrator does an amazing job and really brings the story to life. I can listen to these books over and over again!

Fantastic

Ghost of Retribution by Alice Winters is a fantastic paranormal romance fantasy. Greg Boudreaux did a fantastic job with the narration. The story is entertaining, engaging, enjoyable, interesting, funny, and more. Maddox and Hiro go on vacation but Hiro attract trouble everywhere he goes. Listen to hear the story. Highly recommend. Hope there’s more to this series. Can’t wait to find out.
