A Treacherous Killer Carries Out a Terrifying Legacy of Abduction and Murder
After discovering a grisly collection of fresh human remains in a long abandoned burial ground, FBI Special Agent Bailey Flynn faces off against a prolific serial killer with a hidden connection to Belle Harbor’s deadly past.

Suspecting the buried bones hold the key to the killer’s identity, she enlists the help of a local forensic anthropologist to excavate the gruesome crime scene and identify the remains.

But when the anthropologist goes missing and several members of the excavation crew turn up dead, Bailey fears the compulsive killer will stop at nothing to reclaim the bones taken from him and exact his deadly revenge.

Book Two in the new FBI mystery thriller series by Melinda Woodhall, author of the addictive Bridget Bishop FBI Mystery Thriller Series and the Veronica Lee Thriller Series.

The stories were good. Kept me wanting to find out what’s next. A little predictable but interesting characters helped overlook some of the clunky parts. The writer is improving with each book. Getting better with the red herrings. I’m looking forward to more stories. The AI voice is ok but sometimes lacks emotion or leaves us guessing at the gender. Occasionally mispronounced a word or name but overall not too distracting.

Forensic Anthropologist Dr. Wendy Wharton and her grad students have been tasked with collecting bones that were left on top of graves at Belle Harbor Burial Ground. But when one student is murdered and Wendy disappears, FBI Special Agent Bailey Flynn is invited to help with the case. Bailey follows a trail through the woods where they believe Wendy may have fled from the killer before jumping in the river. Did she drown? Is she still alive? The bones that were being collected from the burial site have been taken. Did the person who put them on top of the graves take them back? Bailey, along with Detective Jimmy Frasier, are working against time to find Wendy alive.

This is the second book in the Bailey Flynn series. I didn't like it as much as the previous book. This one was a little too cluttered. We have the murder of the grad student along with Wendy's disappearance and a serial killer leaving bones at the graveyard. When another body is found in the same area, police are surprised when he is identified as a known fugitive from a drug cartel. How does this murder tie in with the others? Overall, I liked the mystery, but it could have cut the extraneous material that was thrown in.

I did not like the virtual voice narration at all. There were too many words mispronounced. Some of them were ridiculous. The voice also lacked inflection. I couldn't tell one character from another with the voice. And characters investigating a crime scene seemed just too happy to be there. Stick with the physical book instead of the audio. My rating: 3.5 Stars.

AI narratives- inappropriate voice tones and miss pronounced words/ sentences. Expressions were not good voice raised as if question when clearly should not have been

Great storyline & attention getting twists.

The artificial voice might save money but it can sure ruin a decent story. It was hard to notice whether or not the book was OK. The mispronunciation, the lack of proper inflection, the pauses in the wrong places. Geez Louise, give us a break.

The narration was awful
