Forced by bankruptcy and scandal into exile in France, Lord Waverly expects never to return to his homeland until, staggering home from a gaming hell in the wee hours of the morning, he encounters a young novice escaping from a convent. When she asks him to take her to England, promising him that her English grandfather will reward him handsomely for her safe conveyance, Waverly reluctantly agrees.

Alas, Waverly soon realizes the enormity of his task. When he delivers the irrepressible Lisette to her grandfather's home only to discover that the old man is dead, Waverly is left with no alternative but to offer her the protection of his name. And when he is unexpectedly reunited with the woman whose marriage precipitated his flight to France, Waverly begins to discover that his marriage of convenience is likely to prove very inconvenient indeed....

I always enjoy a good romance without all the descriptive bed scenes. The narrator took a little while to adjust to only because most of the romances I’ve listened to so far are read by women. He did a good job.

Enjoyable and interesting

I was a bit skeptical about listening this last book in the series because I did not care for the Earl of Beverley in the 1st book but it did not disappoint. Ethan was great as usual and the narrator was spectacular. Most of the time I don’t like female voices done by men but Mr Levine did a great job and the humor, French accent were on point.

French Leave did not disappoint

I enjoyed the story. It’s my least favorite of the series mostly because Waverly doesn’t seem to actually change in any way (become softer, nicer, etc) based on the prologue. I feel like his character development is non-existent. Besides that is strangely romantic some how (which also is confusing because I don’t like Waverly that much, and Lisette is sort of ditzy and too young for him //which is mentioned A LOT through the book// and yeah Waverly is sort of a jerk...) I do like the update we get on the Brundys but... I don’t like the whole revenge attempted cheating thing. It seemed weird that they lacked communication COMPLETELY. It didn’t feel this extreme in the past books.

Pretty good story

Really enjoyed the book and although a short story it had very well developed characters. Only negative was the speed at which the narrator read the story. He is excellent with accents and did a good job which would have been an excellent job had he just slooooooowed down

Such an innocent heroine

Yes, I absolutely adore author Sheri Cobb South. I love love love her writing style. There's humor, romance and great storytelling!
I am always ready to recommend this author and her star narrators to family and friends!

I can't seem to gush enough about this series. I love the characters I've come to know. Noah Michael Levine's performance does not disappoint. (I've decided my heart is big enough to be enamored with Ethan Brundy AND John Pickett. LOL)

This is such a fabulous series. Do NOT hesitate to pick up any of Sheri Cobb South's books. You'll NEVER REGRET it.

These stories are at the top of my list for listens again and again and again. (le sigh)

Mature Content: no S, V or L

Another reason to GUSH about Author & Narrator

I really enjoyed this book, as well as the series. Part of it reminded me of a tame version of The Benny Hill Show. I don’t know why since it has been years/decades since I had watched it. I am glad this was in the Romance Package. I highly recommend it.

Very enjoyable.

French Leave is another great installment in the Weaver series.
Lord Waverly rescues (!?!) a novice running away from the convent and the two embark on an epic journey full of mishaps and misunderstandings.
We also get to visit with Helen and Ethan Brundy who is having a whopper of an understanding of their own that almost leads their relationship into disaster.
It was nice to see Lord Waverly develop some redeeming qualities and has now become much less of a cad.
I received a copy of this audiobook at my request and this is my honest unbiased review.

Audiobook - Narrator: Noah Michael Lavine

A wonderful narration of the story although I did struggle with the heroine’s french accent. Often I didn’t realize she was speaking french until I’d rewound it a time or two so that problem wouldn’t have been there if I’d read rather than listened. However, I did get to re-enjoy this narrator’s amazing voice doing Ethan Brundy as a secondary character.

This wasn’t my favorite of the series at this point. Mostly because of the intent to “cheat” by the hero as well as the heroine in book 1, The Weaver Takes a Wife. While nothing actually happens between the two, it is not for lack of trying. This issue aside, I did enjoy the fact that the heroine kept this hero on his toes as well as the tense predicament between him and Ethan. Overall, it was enjoyable just not something I will re-listen to.

Great narration, trouble with story

"I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request, via Audiobook Boom, and have voluntarily left this review." This is the third book in the Weaver trilogy and it to me was in line with the others. They are all great stories and the humor included just made the story for me. The Weavers and Lord Waverly meet again after four years. This time Lord Waverly finds his bride. The adventures they get into are very funny. I love Helen and her weaver, They have five children and in the end, they celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary and during this celebration the son who is most like the dad announces after one glance that he will be marrying Lord Waverly's daughter. Good conclusion to the older generation's story and perhaps a start to the younger generations story.

Another Good One
