Portland was supposed to be a quiet stop for Mystic Caravan, their last stop on the West Coast. Nothing ever goes as expected for Poet Parker, however.

On her first day in town, she sees a shadowy figure on a bridge, and that’s followed by a visit from local law enforcement the next morning. It seems women are going missing, but nobody knows what’s happening to them.

When Poet digs deeper, she finds another story. This one involves creepy kids in dated clothing harassing people in parks and supermarkets. The kids aren’t normal, however, and nobody appears to notice that they’re hanging out in places they don’t belong.

Poet does a deep dive on Portland’s history, but it doesn’t lead to answers. She has more questions than anything else.

Who are the kids? Why is nobody missing them?

Where are the women? Are they tied to the kids?

And what’s going on in Portland’s old tunnel system, the one that was famous because of how many kidnapping victims were transported through it over the years?

Poet is determined to find out, even if the answers just might kill her.

Freaky Shadow is another great addition in this long running series. I look forward to the next book.

What comes next?

This was another entertaining addition to the Mystic Caravan series, and that collective world in general. I am enjoying reading the various related series and watching their stories converge while still developing independently. I am really hoping that this world will continue even after they move to Moonstone Bay.

Poet and Scout

What a treat to have these long lost friends work together. The humor was good too in this otherwise tense story. The narrator is able to handle a huge cast of characters as well. Loved it.

Sigh, Scout….spoiler alert 🚨

So this was a little bit freakish story!!! But I liked it. Good, different story line. 👍🏻👍🏻 What I really didn’t care for is that Scout really isn’t that mean! In her books, she is caring and all but with a little bit more edge. I cannot see her 🚨 spoiler alert willing killing the little ones, that made no sense for her character. All in all, not bad.
