wow, if you read fierce, you really need to read fractured, as all the excitement from the first book continues in this book

if you are like me and gets into the characters and yells at them, then you will definitely be yelling at the characters during the book as I was

as they will just drive you crazy

This is the first time that Rosalind has continued the same characters into a 2nd book and I love it as I love long series of books with the same characters in each book

I now have to try and patiently wait for the book 3 in the series to find out how Hope is going to drive Hemi crazy as you know she always does if you read the first book

When it comes to billionaire books this is an excellent one! Not only does it have all of the "requirements" it has a plot and likeable characters. The story is wonderful and the narration is so easy on the ears. Enjoy ladies!

I just finished this book and I'm speechless because it is not at all what I expected.

What I expected was a part 2 in a three part series that was like all the others, where basically it is like the middle of the book and not very satisfying. That's definitely not what I got.

I was happy with how part one ended and had no burning desire to see what happened to Hope and Hemi next, mainly because I enjoyed how I could see how the story ran parallel to the book in which it first appeared as a story within a story, the Escape to New Zealand book Just in Time. When I got to the first obstacle for Hope and Hemi in this book, I thought...."oh no, I'm going to have to skim this because I don't like people from the past being drug into my good stories to mess things up."

That, however, did not happen. What happened was a lot of working through things that had little to do with that past person, and everything to do with what Hemi and Hope needed to do to make things work now. Just like in the first installment, this book does deliver the promise to those who like to read erotic romance, but it also adds so much more because the emotions are moving the story forward. In this case, the emotions just happen to result in some very, very intense encounters.

Needless to say, there was no skimming involved in this book once I got into it and I couldn't put it down until I was finished. It does contain a cliffhanger, but there is an end date in sight and it's not long. I can't wait to see how it all unfolds.

Emotions are high in this middle-of-the-series boo

Oh, secrets are not good. Unless you can keep them secret, but you can't, can you? How to build a relationship between two very different people with different backgrounds, experience and very different bank accounts? It takes work and this book is the emotional story of some of that work. Emma Wilder does a wonderful job with the voices of the characters. I love the drama in this story and the growing and changing and resisting that Hemi and Hope go through. You are definitely going to need the third part of this whole story!

Both main characters live up to the title

The story of Hemi and Hope continues in this book. There is a cliffhanger at the end of this book, but readers of 'Just in Time' will recognize references from that story in this one (some of the photographs mentioned in Just in Time become scenes in Fractured).

Hope and Hemi pick up where they left off in the first book of the series, Fierce, and now issues of "real life" play out in their romance. Hemi has unresolved issues in his past that become an important part of this story. Hope's sister, who was ill in the first book, is feeling better and testing her limits with both Hope and Hemi. It is tough for a new parental/authority figure to show up in a teenager's life, and it is a challenge for her and for the adults. Each of them have a lot to learn about dynamics in a "family" group!

"Fractured" is a good title for this story because everyone involved is a bit damaged coming into this relationship, and it is hard to hold everything together when these fragmented lives either don't hold together or are held together too much. Loose bits slip out...

Although I love all of Rosalind's books, these "loose bits" were out-of-character, or perhaps really revealed the extremes of characters. Hemi is even more high-handed in this story -- which is hard to believe after the first book! -- and Hope does some seemingly irrational and immature things, too. For a couple who starts out wanting to communicate clearly, that falls apart in this story. I am sure these communication and impulsivity issues will be addressed in the third installment of the story, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it plays out!

Emma is an outstanding narrator and seamlessly switches between characters. She is a true gem and really adds to the telling of the story! I found I appreciated the depth of characters more by listening to her than by reading it alone.

Another Winning Combination of Story & Performance

Did you ever wonder what happens after she says yes? Here is part of that story, beautifully performed by Emma Wilder. Hemi tries to control his and Hope's universe and, as can be expected, this does not sit well with Hope. So the battle of wits continues which makes for some frustrating listening. However the hot, steamy scenes definitely make up for it.
Fracture does end in a cliff hanger but the story and the performance are very much worth the investment of time. I am greatly looking forward to rest of Hemi and Hope's story.
I love Rosalind's stories and the pairing with Emma's performance is perfect. This is an ideal way to spend a cold winter's night.

Another Great Book in this Series!

The second book was better than the first. Hope and Hemi are great characters. I love a strong female character and Hope is definitely that. I love that she has a back bone and is willing to go toe to toe with the dominating, bossy, alpha male that is Hemi. Narrator did an awesome job. Can't wait to listen to the 3rd book.

What made the experience of listening to Fractured the most enjoyable?

This was an amazing book and a even more amazing audio book. I think Emma Wilder did such a good job narrating. She does male and female voices great as well as the different accents. And of course Rosalind James had another success. This is the 2nd audiobook in this series and I can't wait for the 3rd one. Working Relationships

Would you listen to Fractured again? Why?

Yes - very well narrated. Emma Wilder did a great job with all of the different voices for all of the characters. It is amazing that she can go from female to male as smoothly as she does. I have listened to other books that she has narrated and this by far, was her best work.

Any additional comments?

The continuation of Hope and Hemi's relationship is certainly put to the test in the second installment of the series. Hope is trying to find her way in the business world, but is not being taken seriously because of being Hemi's fiancé. There is a lot of turmoil in this book as they are all trying to figure out how life will work with Hope, Hemi and Karen living under the same roof. Hope is afraid to give any authority to Hemi in relation to Karen, however, he certainly puts his foot down more than once to remedy the situations.
There is, once again, a lot of steam between Hope and Hemi, but towards the end of the book, they both realize that "sexual steam" is not going to solve their problems.
There is a lot of growing up and life lessons in this book.
Once again, I am so happy that Rosalind decided to give Hope and Hemi their own series.

Great second installment

Fractured is the second book in the Not Quite a Billionaire series by Rosalind James. And even though I am a reader that has a habit of reading series out of order, I would recommend listening or reading this series in order, as this is not a stand-alone novel. I loved the first book in the series, and found this to be a very fast listen and all in all I found it to be a satisfying listen. I enjoy James's writing style, and this book was no exception. This books has romantic fantasy type elements (ie rich hot guy) but with realism of characters, dialogue, conflict etc. The plot moves fast, and the events that transpire, happen over time not over a drama packed matter of days which I appreciated. There are some truly hot scenes in this book, and the chemistry between Hope and Hemi who are the two protagonists are fantastic. I love the minor characters, especially Nathan, and hope to see more of him in the third installment. My favorite scenes in this book though, are those that show Hope becoming more confident in the workplace and with people.

Its very difficult to review just a portion of a series like this. As you would expect the groundwork was laid for more character growth and conflict was established for the concluding book and I have a feeling the third book will be very satisfying, but until I listen/read that book, I am left frustrated (understandbly since this is the frustrating bit of the story) with the main characters and the need for resolution. I am hopeful, and have every reason to believe, that Hope will become more consistently confident in all areas of her life and that Hemi will become more emotionally intelligent. I definitely feel that if you are like me, you will want to jump immediately into the third book to see how it all plays out.

This second book as a new narrator, Emma Wilder, who is excellent. Like her predecessor Claire Bocking she provides distinct voices and there is no flipping back in the recording to try to understand anything she says.
