Resumen del Editor

Shunned and cast aside by his faith and family, Jamie is left to do whatever it takes to survive.

He comes across a group of kids in the same predicament, braving the streets of Seattle due to circumstances beyond their control. Lost souls who’ve slipped through the cracks of the broken systems society forced them into. Yet they still offer what little they have to him, including their home.

As time moves on, darkness surrounds him and when one of their own fall’s victim to the streets, Jamie wonders if there’s anything left worth living for. When his savior appears out of nowhere, he finds it hard to believe its real because he knows he’s not worth loving.

This is Jamie’s story from the number one Amazon best-selling book, Greyson Fox.

Potential triggers:

Sexual and physical abuse by church and family members, cheating, drug usage, prostitution, and thoughts of suicide. Flashbacks of the abuse are present throughout this book. These are the opinions of the characters and in no way reflect the author.

Could‘t get farther than chapter 2

It is impossible for me to give a balanced review since I couldn‘t listen to it any longer. The story seemed quite interesting... that’s why I made it till chapter 2.
But sadly I could‘t cope with the sound of the narrators voice... or more exactly with how he read the story. I almost fell asleep, to me it was too monotone, always the same melody.

Emotionally draining

This is the first story I’ve listened to by this author. I found the blurb to be something I thought I’d like and this is really a great story. Right from the start I was brokenhearted with Jamie’s story. It makes me look around when I’m shopping and doing other errands wondering how many kids something like this happens to. Jamie does the best he can when forced on his own as an underage teenager. So much happens to him that keeps breaking my heart until circumstances cause him to meet Butch. I was so happy that the author also addressed what happened to Jamie’s sister. Without adding spoilers the best I can say is this is a must read. On so many levels it touched me. The things that happen with Jamie’s friends. As I mentioned Jamie’s sister is another situation answered. This is just one very emotional book. Now the downside. While I love the story not so much the narration. Alexander Collins does not appear to be a new narrator. If the story had not been so good his voice with the same lilt in each sentence would have caused me to read the book rather than listen to it. It might be my personal opinion. I finished listening to it because I received a free copy. I would have bought the book and read it otherwise. I cannot take away from the author because sometimes they don't pick the narrator. As I stated, I received a free copy and this is a voluntary review.

loved it

I loved this book. Alexander Collins really brings this story to life and makes you love the characters even more. This one is a tearjerker and beautiful story. Jamie is a tough and wonderful character.

I enjoyed this a lot.

When I started listening to Forgive Me Father, I didn't realize that it was sort of a prequel to Greyson Fox. I wasn't crazy about that book so I'm kind of glad that I didn't know these two were connected. While the narration for this story was pretty good, I was a bit annoyed after a time by the way Alexander Collins ended every sentence. I'm not sure how to describe what he did with his voice. I listened to samples of his other work on Audible and they actually seemed to be better than this one even though this is a much later publication.

As for the story it really held my interest. Pay attention to the author's warning about potential triggers. There were parts of the story that were very difficult to listen to. I actually think the fact that the narrator didn't "perform" the story as much as some narrators do was probably a good thing. There were several scenes that would have been even more heartbreaking if the acting had been better.

Several things happened in this book that I wasn't expecting. It's been a fair amount of time since I read Greyson Fox so if we learned about these things in that book, I'd forgotten about them. I know this is terribly cryptic but saying more would be to give too much away.

The blurb tells you that Jamie was cast out by his family. Just about half of the book is about what happened to him in the first years after that. Things eventually get better for him and the story begins to involve characters from the Greyson Fox book. You definitely don't need to have read that to enjoy Forgive Me Father.

I liked this book enough that I would definitely listen to more from this author and/or narrator.

A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.
