A Great Book for Aspiring Foragers

You will find this book to be very useful wether you’re interested in foraging because you want to pick up a cool hobby or if you just want to practice self sufficiently. The author even described a few common plants that you could easily spot and start foraging. I appreciate that the author emphasized safety precautions to take when foraging. I came into this book knowing little about foraging, and I left with a ton of applicable knowledge. Would definitely recommend!

This is book is interesting. I never thought about eating berries since I'm a city boy. The study in the woods would help especially if you are going to be there for a while. Connect with nature in the woods. It is a wild ride!

Excellent Guide for Getting Started

The information presented here is great. Strong attention to the warnings of taking up this hobby should not be taken lightly, as there are things in the wild that can hurt or even kill you.

The attention given to the information describing the good vs. the bad is presented very well. I very much liked the details about the benefits of each of the plants and their components.

This audiobook is very informative and useful. It has all the necessary information you need in order to forage safely in the midwest. You'll learn about tips and tricks on how to forage in your area, including what tools are needed, sustainable and ethical foraging, and how to respect the wildlife in your area. It is very comprehensive and covers edible as well as poisonous plants.

If you want to find a morel mushroom, there are even sections that have specific accounts for mushrooms within the audiobook. The narrator paces themself well and makes sure to their time speaking to the listener.

If you are looking for a guide to help you forage for plants and mushrooms in Michigan and the midwest, look no further. I wish there was a PDF to accompany this audiobook so I could see images of the plants while listening to the specific accounts. That would be truly helpful!

Lots of great information!

Coming in with no experience on foraging, I feel like I learned so much from listening to this book! There's a lot of great information in here for beginners. I enjoyed the part of how to understand plants and the different type of wild edibles you can find in nature. Whenever I visit the Midwest, I will be sure to put what I learned in this book to good use!

Great informative book! Definitely good for people just starting to get into foraging in the Midwest and Michigan. Love this book! People living in the Midwest and Michigan and till learning must listen to this book to identify and a great resource! Thank you!
