You don't realize most of the time that negotiations are part of your daily life because we do it so often, but even in a committed relationship you are always negotiating. I love that the author talks about not always having to "win" at the negotiating table but creating a win-win situation for both parties. This is what negotiation is all about, especially if you have an ongoing relationship with the other business party or just in life. A key takeaway for me was the power of silence.
