Jack is sent by the agency to find Ms. Huntley and bring her back to the States. They have many unanswered questions about her father's death. A professional and responsible man, Jack is confused by Kate's lack of cooperation. He wants to help her return to the States where he believes she'll be safe, but she treats him like the enemy and refuses to go. Everything about her is a contradiction. She looks fragile and innocent, but every time he turns around she's putting another thug in his place.

In the beginning Jack wonders if Kate's distrust of his superiors is warranted or just simple paranoia. In the end, Jack realizes nothing is as it seems.

Good grief.. I'll READ the book..

Terrible, terrible narration! When Kate was on the boat with her father, who had been stabbed and was dying whatever he said was said in a normal tone, no painful sounds, no nothing. When Jack had been shot and had been unconscious for 2 days when he woke up his speech was perfectly normal, bright and cheery. Really? No raspy voice, no nothing. Unbelievable! There was no emotions at all from this narrator and the men’s voices were a little too feminine for me. This narrator didn’t even try. All she did was read the book. If even 1 of the people who rated this book would have actually reviewed it honestly I would never have bought it. I gave 3 stars to Overall and Story to be fair to the author since I'm not going to finish listening to it.

I would like to say that the description tells us what the book is about or we can zip over to Amazon and look at reviews. This is AUDIBLE! What we need to review is the narrator. Does he or she suck? Why? Is he or she too nasal-y, too sweet for the kind of book he or she is reading, to gruff, too bland, too robotic, lacks emotion. Is he or she doing nothing but reading the book? Not changing his or her voice for the male and female voices? Is the narrator sounding the same whether she or he is reading a whisper spoken?
Most of us on AUDIBLE don't really care what the book is about. We want to know about the narrator!
