Fighting Back is truly inspiring, heroic and human. Triumph, then tragedy, followed by more triumph. We could all be a bit more like Rocky Bleier.

I enjoyed and found it to be a good listen. Rocky did a great job reading it.

So Good! Felt like Rocky was at the bar with me.

I had read Fighting Back before and I knew who Rocky Bleier was. I wanted a refresh on his story and downloaded this version of the story. Wow! The impact was so much deeper hearing the story from Mr. Bleier himself. I felt like we were hanging out at our favorite bar while he was telling me his story. His voice and the way he is able to read his story really brings the story to life. I could see the family bar in Appleton, feel the freezing rain and snow on the field in Pittsburgh during December games, feel the thick hot air in Vietnam. Truly a testament to the art of story telling. Even if you read this book before - listen to this version. If you have young people in your life, add it to their devices. It should be a story that keeps on “Fighting Back”.

Truly amazing story

I have always been a huge Rocky Bleier fan, I watched him play with the Steelers as a young boy with my dad. I remember being eight years old and getting the t-shirt with the saying “One for the thumb in 81.” My mom had fits trying to get that shirt off me. I watched the movie multiple times, but never read the book. To be able to listen to my childhood hero read his life story was amazing! Rocky is in my opinion one of the true greats that never was considered to be great! Thanks Rocky for the trip down memory lane.

Phenomenal

Being able to hear Rocky himself read this is a game changer. we have the physical copy of the book as well. just being able to hear him tell his story is a unique experience. You definitely get sucked right in to listening!

To start, I’m a huge Rocky Bleier fan, so I might be biased. That said, as Rocky reads this himself, it’s really as if you hanging with him and he’s telling you about his life. He’s a hero on and off the field, far bigger than his 5’10” would imply. Here’s he’s honest—about ethical struggles, trying to dodge the draft to avoid Vietnam, disappointments—and of course the incredible work he did to be able to play football. You laugh with him, cry with him, hope with him and throw up a lusty cheer at the end. Great listen—I love the hard copy, but this audio book does a wonderful job when it comes to bringing the story to life.

A true American hero

If there is ever a story of overcoming adversity, this is one. Rocky is heck of a human being, a true patriot, and an American through and through. This is an amazing story for any veteran, fan of the military, a fan of sports, and a fan of humanity. Do not pass this up.
