Wonderful!

I loved the written story and could not wait to hear it as well. Ken Salin does a great job narrating this. His voice brings each character to life!

I struggled to finish it. If you like sweet romance it a must, but the characters are not deeply developed.

I did not find this story believable at all due to the abuse Charlotte watched her mother go through and how the author tried to put BSM into the story. I just do not see a woman who is a virgin who has went through what she has looking so sweetly at an over powering male and say yes please spank me. Yes I think I would enjoy that. Oh yes punish me. I honestly had a hard time getting through this audio with her being so wishy washy hating him one minute and running in his arms the next. With all that was going on their plans to marry was too fast for this story line.

Mr. Solin narration was pretty good, there were times he is lacking emotions and other times he hits it right on the money. At times I thought his voice was a little flat and other times I thought it fit the story line. I think if he would have chuckled etc as the characters did it would have been better. I could hear him swallow at times maybe a pause should have been taken, I am unsure how narrator deal with this issue. I thought his character voices were really good, you knew who was talking. I hear no background noise or any volume changes. There were no repeats of working. It was a very clear audio. If any breaks were taken I could not tell. For the most part I thought this was a good narration and with some work Mr. Solin will do wonderful in this field.

I am sorry but there isn’t much else to say. The author had me until she brought the spankings into the story and she totally lost me. It just didn’t fit this story line.

Ms. Smart's book brought to life by Ken Solin

I was so excited to see this book released on Audio and now that I finished it I think the book was great but add the narration and it was awesome!! I love it when a book is so good, that you put the rest of the world on hold, so you can finish your book! The narrator, Ken Solin, was an excellent choice for this story. Charlotte Rose was such a pip and Max had the patience of a saint. Well written characters that you fall in love with.

I Don't Like Books With Spanking

I gave this book three stars because of the spanking factor. Overall it was well developed. The narrator helped move the story along and her voices matched the characters for the most part. Max's voice was the only one I had trouble with. He should have had more of a deep timbre. Overall having to fetch the schoolmarm proved to be extremely beneficial. The child abuse that Max saved Tim from was well written. I liked the story. It is less than four hours but a complete story with no cliffhangers.

Attention: Spankings!

This mail order bride (MOB) romance has everything that you would expect and more!

A tall dark stranger, Max Harrison, must replace the Marshall that Charlotte is expecting to meet her at the train station. Holding a photo of the beautiful new school schoolmarm, Max talked her into allowing her to accompany him on the eight hour journey where she will find her new home.

From the first moment, Max is bossy. He demands that Charlotte get on his buggy, change her clothes – to cooler, more appropriate ones for the climate.,etc. When she is determined to stay her own spine she finds herself eating from heatstroke and being barked at with even more instructions and threatened with spankings. at this point there is a bit of eye rolling from this listener.

Despite their initial introduction, Max and Charlotte (or Charlie, as he nicknames her) struggle against the mutual attraction they find for one another.

In this listener's opinion, I find the spanking and threats silly. However, if this is your pleasure, it may be a five-star review for you.

I find that the book is well written and I did enjoy it – there is nothing wrong with a little bit of play in the bedroom or that vicinity, in my opinion. But presented in this way and so soon turned me off a bit.

Ken Solon is an above average narrator and I have rewarded him with four stars

Overall I give this book 3.75 very strong stars

I will seek out Amelia Smarts' & Ken Solin in future purchases.

Warning: Mature themes, sexual innuendos and scenes and as the publisher notes, "domestic discipline…" I do not remember any foul or strong language but it seems there may have been a cuss word or two.

I can't believe I missed the theme in the description of the book. Domestic discipline stories are not my cup of tea, but I will say the building romance and suspense of the conflict with Simon kept it interesting. I'm sure plenty of people will enjoy this.




The narration was ok. The characters were well portrayed by Ken Solin, but in a couple places sentences were repeated. That was distracting.

Storyline was OK but I didn't really enjoy the narrative. Ken Solon has a lovely natural voice I just didn't personally think all charators had been performed to match. Tim for example didn't really sound like a young teen, and Charlie didn't sound like the educated lady that she was.

My favorite so far!

First, can I just say, I love Amelia Smarts? She writes the most fun loving, intimate, personal books for us to enjoy. This book brings us Max and Charlotte. Charlotte is the new school marm and Max is sent to pick her up. Immediately, the banter back and forth between the two is instant chemistry. And oh, the first spanking! I love the way Max is with "Charlie". He is so gentle, yet so domineering. Charlotte is completely smitten, yet she just loves to push the limit. Whether an argument or a secret, show knows what the consequence will be, yet she still does it.We also meet Tim, Max's apprentice. What a kid! Learning where he came from, meeting his father and their relationship and what Max has offered this young man, you can't help but be in awe. The three are quite a family, and the obvious love they all have for each other is shown throughout all the plot twists and turns(yes, there are several!). The

Ken Solin narrates this story. His voice is perfect for the historical western romance, a better narrator could not be chosen. I can picture each of the characters as he is performing. This book brought a smile to my face, a definite must listen!
