Resumen del Editor

From Wall Street Journal best-selling author Kristen Proby comes a small-town second-chance romance! Fernhill Lane is the newest installment in the Huckleberry Bay series!

She didn’t think she’d ever come home again.

When Sarah Bitterman left Huckleberry Bay at the tender age of 19, newly married to a much older man, she had every intention of coming home to visit. Sadly, she quickly learned that was out of the question.

Until her husband throws her out with only the clothes on her back and finally sets Sarah free.

Coming back to the small seaside town has been the hardest thing she’s ever done. Facing those who loved her the most and think she turned her back on them is almost unbearable. But she needs her two best friends, and she’s longed to make amends with her little brother.

Huckleberry Bay is like the art in her soul. And now she can put down roots and begin to heal.

Tanner Hilleman knew it was a mistake to let the love of his life go all those years ago, and he’s never stopped thinking about her. Now that she’s home, while he’s giving her the space she needs, he’s also determined to make Sarah see that they belong together.

Unfortunately, Sarah’s past has followed her to Huckleberry Bay and threatens to destroy everything she loves. Will she and Tanner survive it? Or will it tear them apart for good?

Loving Huckleberry Bay!

This is the second book in this small town series set in Huckleberry Bay on the coast of Oregon. This book is a second chance, friends to lovers trope with a little mystery, suspense and a twist you don't see coming. And Arndt and Gomez Pugh are fantastic and bring the heat and the heart to this small town romance.

# 2- Sarah & Tanner reconcile & solve fire mystery

Sweet but predictable sequel that introduces numerous new characters. Some sexy parts but mostly a nice, at times lukewarm, romance between the adult versions of a quiet, beaten down but artistically talented young woman and her attractive but immature high school flame. No need for a spoiler if you read book 1 as there is with no real surprise in this book’s suspense & it just needs to play out. This is Not one of the author’s best but there appear to be many more stories to come from this setting and some of those are being set up to be more dynamic. Maybe she can redeem these 2 somewhat wimpy characters to be more interesting or spicy in a future book on the friends or Sarah’s brother Scott.
The narration was also a bit lackluster. The ultimate professional Andi Arndt did a good job though again not her best, particularly in the scenes with multiple voices where she seemed to loose track of who was supposed to be speaking. Not a big deal if it had been caught in the editing and the scene redone. This is the first I have heard Gomez Pugh and his voice is pleasant enough but hard to tell if the just ok performance was an accurate portrayal given the somewhat bland dialogue coming from the character of Tanner. This book does definitively solve the mystery from book one and sets up future books in the series. It is fine for a light read and with the exception of the big reveal scene toward the end, this is a calming story to read before bed. If you are a Proby fan it may be worth a credit but is better as a sale book.

Second Chance

I love a good second chance for love but this story has a twist with a second chance for happiness too! Sarah is back in her childhood hometown. After leaving an abusive marriage, she just wants to start over. Trying to bond her friendships, her relationship with her brother and find her true passion. Tanner also wants to see her thrive. Being her teenage first love, he wants to try again with the her but is willing to wait. She ends up being one of his Tenants and after a break in at her new apartment she gets even closer to the man who got away.

This storyline also has a suspense plot to it that ties into the break in. Great story and characters!

3.75 ‘Come Home’ Stars

Awwww, talk about a sweet second chance romance! I’m adoring this Huckleberry Bay gang and all its interesting characters and stories, this time with Sarah and Tanner’s love tale. It’s been a rough one, specially for poor Sarah, but now those times are gone and its all about falling in love again, and truly coming back HOME…

Fernhill Lane is just as captivating, sexy and entertaining as usual staple in Ms. Proby’s addictive writing, a true feel good romance with just the perfect hint of mystery/suspense, which here was spot on, I was super invested in finding who was the villain, lol.

Thought I adore all things KP, Tanner just didn’t feel like all other Proby’s book boyfriends, and don’t get me wrong, because in the PRESENT he SO is, he actually excels at it! I know I’m a grudgeful b!tch, so the trouble is in my mind 100%, but I just couldn’t get over his reasoning for breaking up with Sarah, his high school sweetheart, given her awful family life – yes, I’m well aware it’s a valid and realistic reason! – but for ME, that’s not a Kristen Proby book boyfriend, didn’t feel like something they would do, no matter if present or past, because that led to her misfortune, when all she wanted was to be loved! Sigh… On the plus side he knows he royally screwed up in the past so me more than makes up for it. Her extremely long celibacy, to his in her face past, also left a bitter taste in my mouth though.

But she DID have someone who never stopped loving her, ALWAYS, her girls, Luna and June, how I adored this sisterhood, the companionship, the pure love, and support, wow, Ms. Proby always gives us strong female characters, so this trio is just proof of that, and I can’t get enough, specially after that epilogue, omg, I need June and Apollo’s book ASAP!!! <3 <3 <3 <3

Fernhill Lane

Sarah is back in her hometown, healing from a rotten marriage. Tanner, her highschool sweetheart has her in his sights but she also can’t help but be drawn back into him too.

Their connection is scorching even after all this time. He just wants her to be safe and happy. And that might come off a little strong at times.

Things are going wrong at every turn, not between her and Tanner, just odd things. And it becomes apparent that it doesn’t seem like harmless fun. Something or someone is after Sarah.

We find out who but it's shocking to say the least.
But with good friends and a man beside her who only wants to protect, it turns out just how it's supposed to.

I liked the narration. Gomez is a favourite of mine.

Loved it!

Fernhill Lane is the second book in the Huckleberry Bay series by Kristen Proby, featuring a second chance romance for Tanner and Sarah. Sarah returned home after leaving an abusive, loveless marriage, and began the task of rebuilding her life and her self-esteem. Tanner has spent months biding his time, waiting for Sarah to be ready for him to pursue her again. When Sarah finds herself in danger, will forced proximity give them both an opportunity to take a chance?

I listened to the audio version of this book on Audible, which was beautifully narrated by And Arndt and Gomez Pugh. I loved the suspense twists in this book, and growing bonds of all the characters, the witty banter, laughter, passion, romance, drama, action, and emotion. Tanner was a top notch swoon worthy leading man, and Sarah rose like a Phoenix from the ashes of her past. And judging from the epilogue, June’s book should be an entertaining read!! I highly recommend both books of this series!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Second Chance for love

This is a great series. I enjoyed listening to Andi Arndt and Gomez Pugh narrate Sarah and Tanner's story of second chance love. I'm glad there wasn't a lot of angst between them. There is a mystery of the strange things happening to Sarah and who would be doing these things. I'm looking forward to the next book that was teased at the end.

A beautiful second chance romance

Tanner and Sarah's love story was everything I was craving when these two were introduced in Lighthouse Way. Sarah is getting back on her feet after leaving her abusive ex husband, and goes through tremendous growth in this book. Tanner is single minded in his focus and devotion for Sarah. Their relationship is low angst, but the story has a strong suspense storyline that kept me engaged and turning pages. I loved how possessive and alpha Tanner is, while still being gentle with Sarah. This book felt very much like living in their love and I enjoyed every minute of it!

As with many of Kristen Proby's books, this series has an awesome girl gang. June and Luna and the Three sisters have some fun moments and there is some great world building and friend-relationship building in this story.

For my reread I listened to the audiobook narrated by Andi Arndt and Gomez Pugh. Both did an exceptional job performing Tanner and Sarah and all the friends. My favorite part of the narration was Gomez Pugh's voice for Wolfe. It was such a nice carryover from Sebastian York's performance in Lighthouse Way it brought a smile to my face.
