well read and a fun book

so many distopias have whimpy women and men in control.
how fun to see it go the other way!
this book is so unique, so different.. and truly well read. so many narrators ruin books for me. i am sooo picky. but this was read perfectly.

The idea that things could really be that way is mind blowing! This was a great story, even if steeped in reality. The narrator was also very good, drew me right in!

Finally a new book.

A little easy to guess but… it kept me interested! So thankful for a new book

Christina never disappoints!!

This is my 4rth book of hers and I have loved them All! The performance is very well done and as I listen my mind pictures my own little movie and takes me away!

Couldn't Stop Listening!!

At first, I thought this book was going to be drawn out and boring. It took a while to get through the backstory but it turned out to be a pretty darn good book! The ending wasn't a big surprise but it was still a good one.

Not as good as VOX

Just okay. I don't regret the purchase or time spent listening. Even though Miranda was correct , she was so annoying and whined throughout the story that I ended up siding with and liking her mother Win. I am assuming the author did that intentionally. Interesting choice. An okay book but not as good as VOX. I ended up purchasing this because I was so impressed with VOX. Can't wait to see what Christina Dalcher writes next.

Not a good audiobook

I stopped at one hour and a half. There are flashbacks back and forth, to different points in the past. It's very confusing because there's no transition. Maybe it works better in written form.
The main character is boring. She complains and whines about how hard and unfair life is. I just wish she would move on from that.
The performance is ok, but Audible has gotten me used to much better. In addition, the main characters are all female (so far), so it's challenging for the performer to make different voices.

Trite and reductive

This story does not live up to its name. It’s character development is poor, the stale conflict(centered in expected gender roles is not nuanced and the outcome expected. It is a triumph of mediocracy.
