the author has provided yet another great historical mystery. As far as I can tell there are no anachronisms and the characters true to the period. further, with each offering of this series you get more from the main characters. looking for the next installment.

A beautifully told tale.

I have read all of the books in series, enjoying each one, but this one is my favorite for several reasons. I have a great love for ravens and crows delighting in their almost human like behaviors. Beyond that though , it was an encouraging story of enduring love and compassion in the midst of depravity and suffering. It was also a story about justice. Not just pursuit of justice, which is evident in all of the novels, but this story was told so well, that justice occurs on so many levels. Finally, the author made me feel the complexity of being human, with strengths and flaws, joys and sadness. This story made me feel them all. It was a cathartic experience and one that surprised me. Past all of the political intrigue during this period in Britain's history, is a story human endurance.
