Wonderful story.

I listen and read a lot of historical fiction. Sometimes they get so boring but this one was wonderful!!

A nice read

Enjoyed the book, but I found it somewhat predictable. A light read and a good distraction. Good plot twist at the end.

An enticing story

I like murder mystery’s best, mostly Agatha Christie. And so, when I had finished reading everything she has written I was left wishing there was more. So I do a quick google search on authors who are comparably good. I find Rachel Rhys on one readers list and decide to give this a try. I’m glad I did. You can tell where the story is heading after a while, but I couldn’t help wanting some proof that my ideas were right. It wasn’t disappointing to kind of know what coming, it was rewarding when it all finally came out. The characters are amusing, and annoying, and enjoyable. The narrators both did their parts very very well.

Loved the many details described through out this book. Enjoyed watching Eve discover who she wanted to become.

Excellent book!

I purchased the book thinking it was by a different author but am so glad I made this mistake because this book was a great find. The complex characters are carefully revealed. And the past history interjected without confusion but leaving you wondering and holding your attention. I guess the end of many books correctly, but not this one! It kept me guessing until the end.

Predictable story

This story barely kept my interest - the setting was perfect but the characters fell flat. A bit boring.

A very thin storyline drawn out

The American accent of the writer character was abysmal. There are some appealing aspects of the book, but it’s definitely a good one to skip.

Surprisingly good story

I wasn't sure if I would like this period drama (post WW2). The story starts slowly & seems a bit drab at first but once Eve gets to the Riviera, the story gets more & more engrossing. What an interesting turn of events. I won't spoil it but it's a very good performance & story. I could imagine each of the characters & I would definitely see the story if turned into a movie. As the Brits say "well done".

I loved the author's style and story line. I enjoyed everything about it, including the readers.
