Resumen del Editor

What can a fairy-godmother-in-training do when Cinderella refuses to go to the ball?

Why, go along in Cinderella's place of course!

But falling in love with the prince's brother was never meant to happen. Soon a series of events into motion that will impact not only her career but also her entire life.

The problem is she doesn't know if the prince's brother feels the same about her as she does about him.

And giving up her wings on the chance that he might care about her in return seems reckless and foolish to the usually by-the-book Esmeralda.

Still, becoming human might be the only chance for Esmeralda to reach her own happily everafter?

Check out the first book in this new series of modern fairy tales that will leave you breathless and craving the next one....

A Cute Happily Ever After

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Cute story of a fairy [Esmerelda -- Emmie] who wants to be promoted to fairy godmother so she has to get Cindy [Cinderella] to fall in love with the Prince at the ball. One problem -- Cindy won't go to the ball and Emmie is in love with the Prince's brother. Nothing deep or earth shattering but a pleasant way to pass an afternoon. This story would be suitable for young teens - although there are a few cuss words. If you are a fan of fairytales [even those with a twist] and happily ever after -- this is your kind of tale.

The narrator, Chrissa Boice, does a good job in conveying the light tone of the story.

Super cute reimagining of Cinderella

This is a super cute reimagining of a Cinderella story. I loved the storyline. It was fun and original, focusing more on the fairy godmother’s task than on Cinderella herself. I also liked that the humans weren’t just ready to believe the whole fairy thing at the drop of a hat. I did think that the necklace should have lit up and turned pink once love was found no matter who found it but that was a minor glitch I could get past.
The narrator did a good job and portrayed the characters well. She was able to clearly express their emotions through her words.
Overall this book was short, sweet and entertaining. I look forward to listening to more like it by this author.

I would like to thank the author/narrator/publisher for generously providing me with a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an unbiased and honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Cute story

I enjoyed listening to this story! It's a really cute rendition of a Cinderella story. You can tell from the story that the author really enjoyed writing it! It's quirky and fun. I do think better narration would have helped bring it more to life but overall I liked the book!

The Fairy Godmother

I think above all, the whole backwards concept of the fairy godmother going to the ball in place of 'Cinderella' is definitely a unique and creative spin on the Cinderella story. The writing could have probably been better, but the fact that this has such an original spin on this classic story shows that this author really has the potential to write greater stories in the future.

I would have liked for there to have been more character development, we really aren't able to get to know the characters very well because the story is so short. It would have been nice to have a little bit more of a relationship/ connection/ interaction between Esmerelda and Ryan; at least enough to justify her decision to give up being a fairy to become human to be with him.

At first I thought the narration sounded wayyyyyy too young to narrate Esmerelda, because Esmerelda is supposed to be at least a couple centuries old, so I would have expected her to sound a bit more mature/wiser after so many years. However, after about 20 minutes of narration I started to understand why this was a good fit. Regardless of her many years, Esmerelda is a clearly a young spirit and it seems that she hasn't really been allowed to experience the world. The narrator's voice really adds an element of internal youth to Esmerelda that I don't think is entirely evident or captured through the author's writing. This narrator did a pretty good job, I actually think she would be excellent for children's books. I think there is potential to go from pretty good to excellent in future YA books with a little practice.

Overall, I thought the author and narrator have a lot of potential and they did a pretty good job.

I received a review copy at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.
