Resumen del Editor

The New York Times best-selling author and front man and rhythm guitarist of Kiss grants fans an all-access backstage pass to his personal life and shows them how to pursue a rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle of their own, offering hard-won advice from a music legend.

In this follow-up to his popular best seller Face the Music, the Starchild takes us behind the scenes, revealing what he’s learned from a lifetime as the driving force of Kiss and how he brings his unique sensibility not only to his music career, but to every area of his life - from business to parenting to health and happiness.

Backstage Pass takes you beyond the makeup as Paul shares fascinating details about his life - his fitness routine, philosophy, business principles, how he maintains his inspiration, passion, and joy after nearly 50 years of mega success, including selling out tours, 100 million albums sold, and an art career that has amassed more than 10 million dollars in sales.

Divulging more true stories of the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer’s relationships, hardships, and pivotal moments, it offers surprising lessons on the discipline and hard work that have made him one of the healthiest and most successful rock ‘n’ roll icons in history.

This is the audiobook for fans who love living large but also want to take control and move ahead in everyday life. Paul shows you how you can rock ‘n’ roll all night and party every day - without missing a beat.

Wisdom from the Conveyor Belt

When I first started listening to this I thought "Oh this is the stuff that didn't make the first book." As it went on, I feel this is Paul Stanley realizing that our days are numbered and he wanted to pour some wisdom on you. With this in mind, its not a bunch of leftovers. Full disclosure - I've been a fan since 1976

I love that he is honest enough to point out the time when he was (as he put it) "a dick." I love to hear about his philosophies on raising children (especially through a divorce). I often was walking around the neighborhood listening to this and thinking, "I need to be someplace to write this down" as he would often drop a line that was somewhat bumper sticker worthy, but it was SO TRUE. If you read both Paul and Gene's (bass player in Kiss) books you will see a common thread - these guys roll up their sleeves and do the work. With this in mind, even if you're not a Kiss fan I think you'll get something out of this (and make you hungry for meatloaf).

At the end of the book, Paul talks about his relationship with Gene. It was very touching and shows that you can co-exist with people who occasionally drive you nuts.

I am still bummed about how they handled their Rock Hall Introduction (and not playing). Paul said it would be like spending a night with someone you divorced. In his book, he mentions about dealing with kids in the divorce. What is more important, your hate of your spouse or the love of your child? To this, I say, What was more important the hate of your previous bandmates, or your love for your fans? Water under the bridge... but as a fan, I found that disappointing.

I can't wait for the next "Post Kiss" (as they are on the farewell tour) book from Paul.

Just Started but....

I just started listening and may change my rating when Finished. Had to give an early review because I was disappointed that Paul is not the narrator. I'm sure I would have enjoyed this more if Paul was the one reading.

Love Paul More

As a life long Kiss fan listening to this transforms the legend to a person but to a person I always knew I had real connection to . My therapist asked me if I disliked me and I said no I love me mostly Becuase of my faith in God and some of that comes from The Kiss connection. Thanks Paul !!

Without Paul's voice, it's just a self help book.

"Face the Music" was amazing, and I still listen to it. As a work in progress, myself, it is not just hearing the words that inspire me, and motivate, but it is hearing them from the person themselves.

Paul's new book is informative and empowering, but falls flat at times, sounding like a typical self help book. This, I feel, is because of Paul not narrating the book himself. Sean Pratt does a very good job, but its just not the same as "Face the music"

For me, the book really kicks in once he starts referring to his fitness, image, and cooking routines. Paul is an amazing man, and I will listen to this many more times. I just wish he had done the narration himself. Its nice to walk, workout, and even drive while feeling like you have the voice of one of your heroes carrying you through the process.

A surprise

I love KISS. So naturally I'll support what they do. Not fanatically, but I'm a supporter. I read Paul's first book, and it was good. So when I heard this one was coming, and that it was going to be kind of philosophical and self help-ish, I of course was skeptical. Guess what? He pulled it off. There's an insight in this book that I am surprised exists in this guy. The self help part, for people looking for it, could be helpful. The part about remaining positive is the part that I think most people will be taken with. A good listen, do yourself a favor and buy it. You got nothin' to lose. (Kiss fans will understand that reference)

Not a rockumentary.

I really enjoyed this book. Any Kiss references are relevant to the subject at hand. There isn’t unnecessary bashing as some people who probably didn’t read it claim. There are personal life philosophies and self exploration mentioned throughout that I find are useful. No one has to agree with anyone 100% for any reason. So take this as information and maybe you will find some or all of it useful.

He's got it going on!!

Paul Stanley is such a wise soul. He definitely has his head together. He loves his wife and his kids. What a great person he is!!
Even if you aren't a KISS fan, you must listen to this book.
I was disappointed that Paul didn't narrate, but Sean Pratt did a great job,
