Resumen del Editor

Exploring Creation with General Science: 3rd Edition is part of Apologia's line of award-winning homeschool science curriculum. It has been rewritten to truly walk each student through middle school's transition time from the elementary years to the high school sciences. Specifically designed to be the first course taken during junior high, it was created to give middle school students a basic understanding of the world that surrounds them each day of their lives so that they can appreciate the real-world relevance of scientific inquiry and the beauty of creation.

This course covers a wide range of the branches of science while making the connections between each. Students will learn what science is and, in a detailed and engaging way, how to utilize proper scientific method. This course has many hands-on science experiments that can be completed with household materials. Throughout the course, students are able to see evidence of God's creation as they learn scientific principles. Additionally, they will be excited to learn about many great scientists in history who were driven to study our world out of a desire to better know God as its creator. The course is sandwiched by this historical information within the first module and a presentation of testimonies by modern-day scientists in the last module to help encourage students to study science to better know God and give him glory!

To much for so little!

Over the heads of the listeners. Slow start long book for a short story. To large of concept for young kids.

Exploring Creation with General Science

This is an amazing homeschooling tool to give kids a love of science from a Christian worldview. It can give children the opportunity to see that as a Christian they can still be a scientist if they want.

Wonderful!!

Awesome! Loved the biblical perspective of this book, it’s so hard to find something that doesn’t have evolutionary perspective! Thank you so much, love it!

Good science book, irritating religion preaching

The book is very well written. I heartily thank the writer. And yes, very well narrated too. Thanks, the narrator. It's a basic science book that is enough for a general science knowledge seeker. I understand the writer is a very religious person (Christian) and I don't (shouldn't) have anything to do with this. BUT her effort to prove things about God and the Bible does irritate readers who actually bought this book to learn science, not the gracefulness of God. I wish she hadn't tried this hard. We got her point at the very first, she made sure of it, but throughout the book? It was too much.

Great for grasping concepts, some inaccuracies

These are the ones I've got so far, but there are more. If you buy this book due to cost or due to it reflecting a belief in God, then please have facts checked. I'll try to add more. I'm keeping the book as I prefer the cost and can not find any other General Science textbook available online. Also, the voice of the woman reading is quite lovely and the experiments have helped this 'old person' understand a lot more about General Science. I just get anxious with the inaccuracies because I don't know how many there will be and if I will remember the accurate notes. Also, frustrated because I want to tutor and I know that there is more to learn as base curriculum that is omitted Other than that, the book does pack a lot of information in: These are just some of the inaccuracies.:
Solar flares do not cause the aurora borealis and australis, solar winds do, which are not always coming from solar flares.
Supernovas do happen because of a white dwarf star becoming unstable due to extra mass from the star near it in a binary system, but it also happens when a supergiant star has a gravitational collapse of it's core.
The Earth's crust, yes, the oceanic part is made of basalt, but basalt is not magnesium and iron, it's magnesium and silica.
Update as well.: The closest explanet is now Proxima centauri-b, not Fomalhaut-b because it turns out that it was actually a cloud of dust and gas which we thought was a planet.
Okay...now we're getting into fossils and the book says basically that 'so few' species are extinct as they 'make out' and 'not man caused', yet an article I read from Yale says that the majority were caused by hunters or nonnative species.
