Leadership. A process whereby a person uses his or her capacity to inspire, spur, and impact others to accomplish an objective and coordinates the organization in a way that makes it more cognizant and firm.
Leadership happens within the setting of a group, it includes affecting others, it is a procedure, and it involves objective achievement and the objectives are shared by leaders and their followers. The very demonstration of defining leadership as a procedure proposes that leadership is not a characteristic or trait with which just a couple of certain individuals are enriched with during childbirth.
Characterizing leadership as a procedure implies that leadership is a transactional occasion that happens between leaders and their followers. Seeing leadership as a procedure implies that leaders influence and are influenced by their followers either positively or negatively. It emphasizes that leadership is a two-way, intuitive occasion between leaders and followers rather than a linear, one-way occasion in which the leader just influences the followers.
Characterizing leadership as a procedure makes it accessible not only to a chosen few but to anyone who chooses to follow it. More important, it implies that leadership is not just confined to the one individual in a group who has formal and/or positional power. People can learn leadership skills. People can choose to become leaders. This is widely accepted today and is the premise on which this guide is based.
