In spite of both his physical body and his magical abilities being severely hampered. We see Alex is still able to rise up and overcome every obstacle thrown in this way.. is clear his mind is his most powerful asset.

Good Conclusion to Investigations

Though the investigation Alex is involved in come to a head and we get to see them come to a conclusion. Now a much more interesting predicament arise a the very end of this book and I NEED the next book to find out. ot quite a cliffhanger, but I need the next book!! Narrator as usual does a Great job with the various characters voices and the entire storyline.

Get that tattoo off! 😂

It’s killing me the results of two books ago haven’t completed yet. It impacts my hero worship. Great overall, that one detail is killing me.

Wonderful Detective

I love Alex and his staff, including his girlfriend and mentor. These stories remind me of the old detective stories like Sam Spade but with added magic that gives these stories a great twist. They are all wonderful.

Amazing

Dan Willis is a genius. These are my favorite books. Absolutely amazing. I can’t wait for the next book.

I'm starting to worry

about Alex's drinking. I suppose it's just the hard-boiled detective trope, but still.

So many fictional detectives fail to make obvious (to the reader, at least) connections, and Alex is no exception to the rule, but the stories are solid and the narration is perfect.

Filler. Not much substance.

I’ve enjoyed the series. However, this book can be skipped. No character progression. No great villain. No story arc progression. A more accurate title for the book, “A normal work week.”
