great from a British perspective

an excellent overview of the British Empire with a very strong British emphasis. the failure which can be understood is that it minimizes many of the British negatives of the Empire and maximizes any benefits which come from it.

Fun stories, good sinew to connect them. So genuine was the telling. I’d reread it twice.

A fascinating review of a timeless tale of the history and impacts to world order of the British and they're empire.

Good

This is a brief overview of the British empire. An empire in which the sun never set.. because the British couldn't be trusted with the lights off. It was a good book with a good narrator. There are a few quibbles, but all in all a good job by the author.
