Acerca de esta escucha

This program features a new introduction read by Daniel Goleman and a bonus dialogue between the author and Jon Kabat-Zinn.

It is the tenth anniversary since the first publication of Daniel Goleman's groundbreaking bestseller, Emotional Intelligence, which maps the territory where IQ meets EQ, where we apply what we know to how we live. Spending over a year on the New York Times bestseller list, Emotional Intelligence provided the evidence for what many successful people already knew: being smart isn't just a matter of mastering facts; it's a matter of mastering your own emotions and understanding the emotions of the people around you.

The book is great, but the audio format and file is corrupted and therefore broken, there are way too many parts in which the audio skips or reloads and it’s unbearable, you can’t really hear or make the audio part.

File is broken

I don’t know if it’s the narrative or just the book overall but this material is so incredibly dry that it’s hard to listen to for more than an hr a day

It’s so dry

This book has been around for long enough. I probably won't say anything new about it.

It draws the map of what makes us who we are, and suggests how to be our best. It should be taught in elementary school (Okay, slightly simplified) and be required reading by HS. It can be poignant, painful even when you stumble on those "aha" moments, discovering why you do what you do (and are not so proud of). But it is neither moralistic nor does it indulge your flaws. It just describes the complex bundle that we humans are, with both scientific accuracy and compassion. If all the people in a position of power read it, the world would be a much better place. To read this book is to learn how to read yourself.

I gave only four stars for the performance because although Barrett Whitener does a decent job of reading, he is a little cold and it took me a while to get used to his nasal voice. I would have preferred this book to be read by Daniel Goleman himself, who is heard in the Preface and the Epilogue.

A text book on how to be human

This guy sounds like a robot and not in a good way. When the narration started, I honestly thought, “How cool, Stephen Hawking is giving the prologue.” When I realized that this voice was an actual person, I downloaded another version of the book. I knew that listening to robotic sounding nonfiction would cause the book to be boring in such a way I could not properly attend to it. I am sure that there are highly educated people find of this kind of Narrating to seem classy or fancy. To me it was just hard to understand and boring.

Horrible Narrator

I really enjoyed the topic. This book is packed full of really incredible information that I will try to utilize in my life. Unfortunately, the author goes so far in depth and uses repetitive examples that it was a struggle to finish.

Interesting topic, boring listen

A lot of reviews suggested the performance was computer like and I agree, to an extent. At first, it was a little difficult to understand but as I focused it became easier to follow.

The topic of emotional intelligence has opened to my eyes to the undertones of life and I feel there are powerful lessons for anyone contained inside this book.

It's not Stephan Hawking bad...

A must read for self development and others. Managing one's emotions is proving to be the most valuable competency.

Such an amazing book. Definitely a book more people should read to get a better insight of themselves. A bit hard to get through the book since it talks about a lot research but I recommend it.

This book is nothing short of a classic in this field. Author has covered wide range of areas. Amazing read and one will be surprised to see the tricks mind plays and how you can trick that mind. Go for it.
