Amazing!

A well done ending to the prequel for his father’s series Dune, tying the stories together! I want to say more but I recommend just reading/listening to the books. I can’t say enough!

I want to experience Dune again

I want to experience Dune again. This series loads up Dune like a shotgun cartridge ready to explode. It added meat to the storyline of why Duke Leto was so respected. It is a great addition to the tapestry of the Dune saga.

Couldn’t wait to hear how the story progressed

I often dislike prequels after knowing what is going to come, but across these three books I couldn’t wait to hear how the story progressed and got to the Dune I read as a kid and so recently enjoyed the new cinematic undertaking. Loved it and am going to listen to more of the back story of this universe expanded by Brian Herbert.

A must read series

All of the side books of Dune help to give a picture that is more rich and detailed of the world of Dune and the families involved. This one is focused on the duke and son of Caladan. I enjoyed this book on both kindle and audible.

Another Great Work

It was the writings of Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson that turned me into a DUNE fanatic.

Good story.

I like the caladan story.
Disliked that more back should devoted to the Tle-lox-su.

A great book in its own right, and an impressive chapter in an amazing series.

The development of story and character are brought to life in a riveting and enjoyable performance.

Answers Questions from Dune

I enjoyed this novel as it explained why did Jessica wait so long to have a daughter, why did the Atreides get Dune from the Harkonnens and some great insight into CHOAM as it has always been a mystery.

A nice prequel to fill in the story lines

I really like the extreme detail the authors bring to these stories. What will come next?

Another Great Addition To The Dune Universe

All around great addition with two caveats:
1.) Authors spent too much time rehashing/reviewing/retelling previous parts of the book; time that would have been better spent addressing:
2.) Despite leading directly into the events of the original Dune, the REASON(s) why Emperor Shadam betrayed his cousin, Duke Leto are even less clear than before. As I drew closer to the end of the story, I kept expecting something to happen that would clarify it, but alas, still no clear explanation, (or even a clear hint) as to why.
other than the above, I throughly enjoyed the book and recommend it to all Dune fans!
