“Characters are imbued with heroic voices, delivering colorful cadences that catch the ear. Scenes are masterfully undergirded by mounting tension and sinister manipulation. . . . [Scott] Brick turns in a rewarding performance.”—AudioFile on Dune: The Duke of Caladan
In Dune: The Heir of Caladan, the climactic novel in the Caladan trilogy by New York Times bestselling authors Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson, we step into the shoes of Paul Atreides. A boy not yet a man in years, he is about to enter a world he could never have imagined.
The story that began with Duke Leto Atreides's rise to power, then continued with the consequences of Lady Jessica’s betrayal, will now conclude with Paul becoming the leader that he needs to be on the way to his pivotal role as Muad’Dib.
Any Dune fan will devour this tale of a legend coming into his own.

Dune: Part Two
Sci-fi fans everywhere were over the moon when it was announced that critically acclaimed director Denis Villeneuve would be directing a film adaptation of Dune, the classic science fiction novel by Frank Herbert. It was the third time Herbert's epic has been adapted for the screen, but it's the first time the story was split into two parts—opening up opportunities to further explore the iconic characters and imaginative world Herbert created.

A nice prequel to fill in the story lines

1.) Authors spent too much time rehashing/reviewing/retelling previous parts of the book; time that would have been better spent addressing:
2.) Despite leading directly into the events of the original Dune, the REASON(s) why Emperor Shadam betrayed his cousin, Duke Leto are even less clear than before. As I drew closer to the end of the story, I kept expecting something to happen that would clarify it, but alas, still no clear explanation, (or even a clear hint) as to why.
other than the above, I throughly enjoyed the book and recommend it to all Dune fans!
