Interesting plot with fun fantasy elements

Overall really liked this book! Perfect for teenage girls with the right amount of fantasy elements, hints of romance, and great characters. Would recommend!!

Clean and wholesome

I really enjoyed the book. the storyline was very interesting. There were no curse words or inappropriate situations. This is definitely a book that I will let my teen daughter read.

This book is just as good the second time!

I read this book when it first came out, so listening to the audio book is a reread for me, and it is just as good the second time!

This book is inspired by the story of Jonathan in the Bible (something I didn't know the first time I read it the made it even better the second time), and it's full of everything a good fantasy should have (you know... fencing, fighting, torture, true love, miracles... and of course, a unique world and characters you love or love to hate)!

I love it when authors narrate their own books! You get to see a little bit of how they imagine the voices in their heads, and I love the little bit of extra insight into the characters! I did notice that it seemed a little slower than what I'm used to, so while I don't normally speed up the narration, I did this time. Somewhere between 1.2-1.4 seemed more normal to me. I made the switch about halfway through and found myself enjoying the experience more that way, so if you normally listen without adjusting the speed like me, you may want to consider the switch!
