Resumen del Editor

Valeriya Azarov turned her back on the family business to write and illustrate children’s books. But with a sister who leads the Knights of the Dragons, it’s impossible to get away from the secret society whose mission is to destroy and enslave dragons. When information falls into her hands along with the opportunity to save at least one of the ancient creatures, she can’t turn away any longer.

When a woman moves into the cabin above Tarrant Cooper’s secret underground lair, he’s both suspicious and intrigued. He hasn’t lasted 4,000 years being careless, so when he suspects her of being a part of the Knights, the plan is to kidnap her and find out how much the organization knows about him and his brothers. He’s drawn to Valeriya, but trusting her could get him killed. Even if she’s a pawn in the war between drakons and Knights, giving her his heart would mean forever.

Romantic suspense perfection

I loved, loved Tarrant and Valeriya’s fated mates story with a side of mythical creatures and kidnapping. It was filled with all the emotions, the connections and the love and it was unputdownable. It was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and an engaging storyline. There was a delicious contrast between Tarrant, a powerful, violent and immortal drakon, and Valeriya, a sweet human who writes children’s books but still wraps a drakon around her finger. Valeriya’s family has a long history of hunting and exploiting Drakons but she refuses to be a part of it. When she overhears her sister discussing Darius Varkas and finds coordinates, she decides to go there to warn Darius about the Knights of the Dragon. As soon as Tarrant sees Valeriya on his security feed, he is drawn to her and ends up kidnapping her and bringing her to his lair hidden beneath a rustic cabin. Tarrant is reticent about trusting someone close to the Knights but his dragon is not. Of course, there are a lot of secrets to tell and plans to figure out on their journey to their HEA while dodging the murderous Knights. The story includes what you’d expect from this genre - sweet moments, steamy scenes, fighting, dangerous situations, paranormal creatures, evil masterminds, henchmen, loyal friends, tragic back stories, mystical coincidences, snark, and laughs. The balance between the suspense and the romance was perfection. I am excited to read the next book in the series. The author does a great job developing interesting supporting characters like Ezra and making me want to read his story.

The narrator was perfect for this story. They made a fantastic story even better - more swoony, more steamy, more suspenseful, and more funny. Elizabeth Russell did a phenomenal job narrating the story and characters into life with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters quite convincingly. I really love the added dimension listening brings to a story.

Need entire series - now! :)

This is one of my favorite stories in the Drakon series. My only nitpick about this audio version is that I wasn't crazy about some of the male voices, and the baby-sounding voice used for Sarah made me cringe. Other than that, the reader did a fantastic job; I got caught up in the suspenseful parts, even though I knew how it was going to turn out.
Please powers that be, record and release the other five books in the series. Soon.
