When Jonathan Harker visits Transylvania to help Count Dracula with the purchase of a house in London, he soon discovers some strange and shocking things about his new client. And then some strange things start happening back in England: an apparently unmanned ship is wrecked off the coast of Whitby, a young woman discovers strange puncture marks on her neck and the inmate of a lunatic asylum raves about the 'Master' and his imminent arrival.

First published in 1897, Dracula is an epistolary novel, meaning that the narrative is related through letters, diary entries and newspaper articles. The story is brought to life in this Audible production by a group of actors that you might recognise from TV and film: Himesh Patel (Yesterday), Patricia Allison (Sex Education), Daisy Edgar-Jones (Normal People), Theo James (Divergent series) and Jason Watkins (The Crown).

Best Audible addition

This one is far better than most.
I've waited for a British multi-cast narration of Dracula for a long time. I love this one far more than the previous addition. I will be reading this again.

This production of this timeless classic was perfect. The narrators were true to this craft of bringing this timeless horror classic to life

Absolutely perfect. The different voices made this title all consuming for me. The emotions that came across by all voice actors was beautifully done and absolutely heart wrenching. Love love love.

Great adaptation with amazing vocal talent although I wish Van Helding was less monotonous and that his accent wasn’t as heavy as it was very distracting.

Great old tale

This is an old horror story that is slow moving but beautifully read . I would recommend listening to this book just to travel back in time and hear how the Dracula of old has been so change by to days interpretation.

Classic Thriller

The voice actors were great. Could not stop listening. Know the story but felt all the ups and downs like it was the first time.

Perfect for October book club discussion

Excellent performance and brings the story to life. More enjoyable than reading, as I had done my first time through the book.

Unexpected and pleasantly surprised

I wasn’t sure what to expect when starting a classic like this. But the story, and maybe especially read by the people that read it, was very enjoyable. Books are always better than movies they say, and this was definitely no different. I would listen to this again and suggested to others as well.

Great story of course but the readers were the best. How the chapters were tied together and brought up and down was nice...
