Doubt sheds light on the dangers of taking the Bible literally.
In addition to reading the New Testament from a devotional perspective, this book shares numerous reasons why it’s also important to read it with a critical eye and from a historical point of view. By doing so, Jesus’ ministry, and message, are experienced in a whole new way. A companion journal, Doubt on Trial: Jury Notes - Journaling Your Thoughts During Doubt’s Testimony, is also available. This journal offers the opportunity to write down your thoughts and emotions as each chapter of Doubt on Trial is completed. Although the Church is on the decline, this book may jump-start your faith journey.

Something to think about.
I used to believe that doubt was a lack of faith until I was willing to confront belief with facts or the lack of them. I liked the structure of the story. Other authors often present this information with a chip on their shoulders. Williams does a good job of allowing the readers to think for themselves.
