Resumen del Editor

Delve into the history of the sinister Count Dooku in this audio original set in a galaxy far, far away....

Darth Tyranus. Count of Serenno. Leader of the Separatists. A red saber, unsheathed in the dark. But who was he before he became the right hand of the Sith? As Dooku courts a new apprentice, the hidden truth of the Sith Lord’s past begins to come to light.

Dooku’s life began as one of privilege - born within the stony walls of his family’s estate, orbited by the Funeral Moon where the bones of his ancestors lie interred. But soon, his Jedi abilities are recognized, and he is taken from his home to be trained in the ways of the Force by the legendary Master Yoda.

As he hones his power, Dooku rises through the ranks, befriending fellow Jedi Sifo-Dyas and taking a Padawan of his own, the promising Qui-Gon Jinn - and tries to forget the life that he once led. But he finds himself drawn by a strange fascination with the Jedi Master Lene Kostana, and the mission she undertakes for the Order: finding and studying ancient relics of the Sith, in preparation for the eventual return of the deadliest enemies the Jedi have ever faced.

Caught between the world of the Jedi, the ancient responsibilities of his lost home, and the alluring power of the relics, Dooku struggles to stay in the light - even as the darkness begins to fall.

Amazing story and phenomenal voice acting.

absolutely loved the story, and the point of view of each and every character. the voice acting was phenomenal , it was almost like I was watching a TV show. would definitely recommend, especially after reading master and Apprentice. There are a lot of parts that reference that book and it's amazing to see those connections.

A Promising First Effort; Voice Acting Lackluster

Positives: I love the idea of an audio-exclusive Star Wars book...almost like an old radio drama. The decision to tackle a prequel-era story was also a plus for me. The voice actors for Yoda, Qui-gon, Asajj, and Jenza (sp) were spot-on. I gave this a fourth star just because I enjoyed the pre-quel era story and the audio drama format, and I would love to see some more books like it in the future!

Negatives: The story felt almost haphazard at times. Overall, I was not impressed with the voice acting or the editing. Many conversations didn't flow--they felt like the different speaking parts had been recorded separately and then edited in a way that sounded slightly unnatural. Dooku's voice actor was one of my least favorite casting decisions; his voice actor was obviously talented, but I had a hard time picturing him as Dooku when I was expecting something like the voice of Sir Christopher Lee. Also, I'm shocked that this story included Sifo-Dyas but didn't elaborate as to why his name was given to the Kaminoan cloners as the one requesting the clone army. (Maybe Dooku was just impersonating him.) I listened to this immediately after listening to the audio version of "Master and Apprentice," where a single narrator voiced a large cast of characters more convincingly than the multiple voice actors here (the narrator from Master and Apprentice voiced Qui-gon here though, if I'm not mistaken).

Jedi Lost

Excellent story allowing the reader to get more insight on Dooku back story and the reason he left the order. I always thought it was because the jedi were dishonest about Jin death

More audio books like this please

The story was good. Help give a depth to a supporting character. Also filled in some back story for Episode II. but the best part was the format. Not just one reader but a cast of characters. other audiobooks live and die by the narrator but having a cast of voices was excellent. it is more reminiscent of a radio show complete with sound effects. It was great. Please produce more audiobooks in this format.

An Awesome Listen!!!!

Hearing Dooku's story through Asajj Ventress was pretty awesome and made it an even more interesting listen. Getting to know the background of both the characters in such a unique way was, well, unique and made me want to keep listening. And being narrated by a full cast made it even better!!

The Force is Back!

This is the first book since Episode 7 to capture the real essence of Star Wars. A story with "The Force," and Jedi. It expands the Star Wars Galaxy. Dooku's back story! I hope there will be a sequel. Great job Cavan Scott. The cast is fantastic. I will definitely listen to this book again. I highly recommend it.

Dont listen at max volume, but still listen.

Its loud at times, but a good listen of the most unexplained characters (movie wise).

Could’ve been a little more into count Dooku

I like it, just it could’ve been more focused on count Dooku‘s origins all the way down to more Depth Into Dooku decided to leave the Jedi. Just a little bit more detail hopefully there’s another book just directly focused on count Dooku.
