For fans of Running with Scissors, The Glass Castle, and Educated comes a true coming-of-age memoir about a vagabond family led by a self-absorbed, eccentric hippie mother during the age of Aquarius. Devastating family drama, abandonment, and drugs are balanced with laugh-out-loud humor that will keep you listening. You'll laugh, cry, and be left begging for more.

In this final episode of this memoir series, Tom, the lifetime bachelor, takes in his two young nephews to keep his sister's children in the family. The enormous challenges of this sudden and abrupt change leads to life-altering changes. Will the cycle of abandonment be broken, or are we destined to be prisoners of our past?

In a test of wills, who will prevail to determine the long-term fate of the children? In a showdown of authority, lines are drawn into the sand. Will the kids unite the family, or tear it apart? The ties that bind are put to the ultimate test, resulting in unexpected and enduring results.

And with most dysfunctional families, they come with a cost.

Author's Note: Imagine a 1970’s version of Shameless but with less booze, more weed, and way more hallucinogenics.

Don’t Call Me Jupiter provides an accurate, visceral, entertaining, real-life perspective on the ups and downs of surviving a hippie childhood with a narcissist as a mother. As you dig deeper into his struggle, you learn how to forgive what you can't forget.

A interesting peek into a life that is so far different from mine and what I think most have. This would certainly make a good tv series.

Great recollection of an unique life

In the final credits of the book Tom says “Thank you for devouring the entire Don’t Call Me Jupiter Book Series.” I was sitting in the Chick-fil-A drive through thinking “Whoa. The dude knows I just binge listened to all three!”

Yes, they are that good. Read them all. Or listen to Tom tell you the story through Audible. Either way, do it.

Far out!

Throughout the Don't Call Me Jupiter series, I've loved the honesty of the author's reflections on his life. This final installment has a more somber tone (if the neglect, abuse and abandonment of the first two books weren't enough), and it is deeply satisfying to read.

A bittersweet conclusion

Loved the story, the author’s sense of humor, the sound of his voice, and the fact that he truly loved his imperfect family.
