Entertaining fast-paced read

Fantasy is my genre of choice so I’ve read a fair amount of it. This was an unexpected surprise. The “magic in the modern world” and healthy dose of snarky humor gives it a bit of a Jim Butcher/Harry Dresden vibe without being a ripoff.
It’s multi-perspective with each chapter written from a different character POV, which makes for a lot of depth to the world and the characters despite being a relatively quick read. The Bechdel test is solidly passed with two very different but equally badass heroines who are still imperfect enough to be relatable. The action kicks in early and doesn’t really stop for the remainder of the book. With engaging characters and a compelling story, I didn’t want to put this one down. Definitely worth the listen!
