This is the continuing story of a grave digger called John Black who moonlights as a private detective. The backdrop for this story is New York City in 1948. Back then, what with the mob and all, Gotham was a hotbed of hoodlums. It was no surprise then that the City had more than its fair share of murders. For John, there was to be one too many murders - namely of his boss, Jack Berry. Determined to get to the bottom of things, John finds himself in over his head as investigations lead him into a murky underworld of graveyards, funeral parlors, and casinos flush with easy money and fast women.

Would you consider the audio edition of Done and Dusted to be better than the print version?
Oh yeah... The narration and voices bring the story to life. Don't get me wrong... I enjoy curling up with a good book, but I'm also old enough to remember Sunday nights seated around my Grandfather's console radio listening to "Inner Sanctum" and other radio dramas like "Theatre of the Mind". That's why I prefer audiobooks... especially for Mystery/Thrillers.What other book might you compare Done and Dusted to and why?
Well... I am comparing it to the first of the "John Black" P.I. series books... "Swings & Roundabouts". This one is better. A sequel... better... you ask? Yup! The story is richer and the characters more colorful... and sinister.Which character – as performed by A. T. Al Benelli – was your favorite?
John Black. Benelli's New York accent was perfect for "dis guy". He was so believable. The girls were done well too. I wonder how a big guy like that gets his voice to sound like a "hot chick"... TWO hot chicks? It was fun...If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
A cemetery alongside a nursing home? Coincidence... or convenience?Any additional comments?
Good read... I mean "listen" Just the right length for my 90 minute train ride to New York.A sequel that's better than the original... Wow!
