“Steven Tyler is one of the giants of American music, who’s been influential for a whole generation of Rock ’n’ Roll fans around the world. Long May He Rock!”
—Sir Paul McCartney

Does the Noise in My Head Bother You? is the rock memoir to end all rock memoirs — the straight-up, no-holds-barred story of Grammy Award-winning, Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame inductee, and all around superstar legend Steven Tyler, lead singer of Aerosmith (and celebrity judge on American Idol).

The rock and roll epic that is Tyler’s life begins with Tyler’s youth in the Bronx, tracing his early music career and influences, his legendary partnership with Joe Perry, the meteoric rise, fall, and rise of Aerosmith over the last three decades, their music, Tyler’s battles with substance abuse, his epic romantic life, his relationship with his four children (including actress Liv Tyler), life on the road and in the spotlight, the economics of the rock star business --and all the sex, drugs, and rock and roll that anyone could ask for.

In Tyler’s own words: “I’ve been mythicized, Mick-icized, eulogized and fooligized, I’ve been Cole-Portered and farmer’s-daughtered, I’ve been Led Zepped and 12-stepped. I’m a rhyming fool and so cool that me, Fritz the Cat, and Mohair Sam are the baddest cats that am. I have so many outrageous stories, too many, and I’m gonna tell ’em all. All the unexpurgated, brain-jangling tales of debauchery, sex & drugs, transcendence & chemical dependence you will ever want to hear. And this is not just my take, this is the unbridled truth, the in-your-face, up-close and prodigious tale of Steven Tyler straight from the horse’s lips.”

If you could sum up Does the Noise in My Head Bother You? in three words, what would they be?

Reading this book is like listening to Steven's lyrics.

What does Jeremy Davidson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

It felt like Steven Tyler was telling the story himself. The audio made this book. I've talked to my friends who "read" the book and it just doesn't compare. Props to Jeremy Davidson. He couldn't have done it any better.

True Steven Tyler style

I have been an Aerosmith fan since the late 70's and know all their music. This book marks Rock n Roll history. These guys live the Rock n Roll fantasy to the limit and almost to the point of disaster. One of the best book yet. Steven opens up and spills it all out, holding nothing back. There guys are rock legends. I highly recommend this one.

Now that's Rock and Roll!!!

In my opinion, this was one of the less interesting Rock 'n Roll memories. Steven Tyler's writing style is a little too fast paced and a bit "out there." Also, not enough detail. I'd recommend Scar Tissue by Anthony Kiedis or It's So Easy by Duff McKagen.

A little too out there for me

Good Listening. I Would Like To Hear More Like This. Steven Didn't Narrate. Would've Been Better.

The narrator did perfect justice to this book. Steven Tyler IS all over the place and out of his mind in much of this book and the narrator read it exactly as Steven’s head wrote it. Good to know some “inside” stuff about my favorite singer.

Yep! Steven Tyler is exactly as you thought he would be!

Having watched the antics of Aerosmith over the year, this book felt more inside Steven's head. There's more to him than just Aerosmith and I found him to be sensitive, kind and yet still a bit crazy. I thoroughly enjoyed the book. Steven's comments at the end made it even better.

The Real Steven Tyler

I tried to read this book from the library and I was thrilled that I didnt actually spend any money on it, because it was awful. So much jumping around, "sounds," etc. I got the audiobook because I love Steven Tyler and I thought that listening would be much better and it was! Pretty entertaining, but very circular. It the "same old story, same old song and dance" over and over again. I wasnt impressed. The only good thing to say is that the narrator, did a FANTASTIC job at reading it, with lots of expression.

Bad read, good listen
