Meanwhile, Brian gets involved with the criminal fraternity and is given a job: to assassinate the Minds of Magnox. However, others also have the planet within their sights....

Jacob Dudman reads this exclusive audio adventure by Darren Jones, and this edition also features a short coda to the story.

Time Lord Victorious is a multi-platform Doctor Who event launching in Autumn 2020. It will tell a new and untold story, set within the Dark Times at the start of the universe, when even the Eternals were young. Following several Doctors across space and time as they defend their home planet from a terrible race, this is a story like no other.

The story will feature the eighth, ninth and 10th Doctors, companion Rose Tyler and monsters including the Daleks and the Ood.

Timelord Victorious , the journey home

loved it.far far far too short. and after all of it . that epilogue is beautiful , I can't help but cry at the end of it , when she finally realizes ... you feel the emotion In her voice so deep so real !
The entire book is read so well that even though you know and can tell that it isn't David Tennant reading, it's done so well it is easy enough to effortlessly forget that knowledge and have no idea that you are not listening to whatever Doctor Who character's actor's portrayal you're accustomed to viewing . The reader is brilliantly mimicking so that you can easily forget you are not actually listening to the original actor however you want to phrase it whilst cleverly not giving away any obvious SPOILERS by taking this sentence in so many turns and twists that you'll be hard pressed to even figure out what we are even talking about without begining this sentence over; and yes, that was a threatening semicolon just now stareing you down into a soothing calm of not wanting to know just how long this sentence actually was. You move on. Because this is like when the football game has ended. Your team has a good three touchdown lead , you have the ball and there is two minutes left , you've won but you still got to finish it before you can be done though cause you still could loose. If you're following Timelord Victorious you you are gonna get this anyway. You simply have to. If you just want a new 10th Doctor story to listen to here ya go. if you're wondering who this Brian the Ood Assassin is when you see him glowing on your friend's shirt. I would say Brian is at his most Brian most Brian in this story.

More, Please

This book was really good. Most of the Time Lord Victorious series is hard to get into, since you have to read the two books first (also really great). However, I was surprised to find that this book is easy to read without context. All that you need to know is that the Doctor has travelled back to the Dark Times, an age before the Time Lords bent time to their will, and where everyone is immortal. The Katuru (might have spelled that wrong, but whatever) are judging species, giving them lifespans, some more… humane than others. The Doctor and his Ood assassin companion Brian have waged war on them. And boom. The story tells you the rest, without spoiling anything else. All in all, this story was a little rich and a little short. Maybe an extra ten minutes to the book wouldn’t hurt. 7/10 would recommend if you are a modern Doctor Who fan who likes weird concepts played upon.

Five out of Five Stars!

Nothing is as good as a Doctor Who story, especially when it's part of the new Time Lord Victorious storyline. Jacob Dudman, a terrific Doctor Who impressionist, does a wonderful job portraying 10 in this story, and all the characters around him. I had a lot of fun listening to this story, and look forward to more!

Great, but to short

I just recently discovered the "Multi platform story" of the Time Lord Victorious. I thought this was a very good entry into that pool of media. The voice acting was great, and the story was entertaining in a way a short story must be. It felt like listening to an episode of Doctor who that was on in the other room.

But at only an hour and thirteen minutes, it just can't be considered a five star for me. Put it into a short story book with other things, add it to another Doctor who book, do something, but a full credit for this just doesn't cut it.

Still, if you liked the David Tennant era of Doctor Who, then you will probably enjoy this.

A little too short

This didn't feel quite like a full story and more like a chapter in a longer book - the challenge of this Time Lord Victorious crossover event. I suppose one can only go so far when you're coordinating different parts, but here's where we are.

The core story is okay - the Tenth Doctor and Brian the Ood assassin have come to another library planet called Magnox in order to get an answer to a key question. Information is truly power on this planet and acts as its main currency. But it seems the answer to his question is restricted and he'll have to prove himself to the leaders of this world in order to get the answer he seeks.

Brian is immediately separated from the Doctor and it feels like they needed to fill in the blanks and give him something to do. When things come together, it's a little contrived, but given the brevity of the story, I guess it makes sense.

Excellent voice acting but a just okay story that needed a lot more meet. I wish it had been longer and a bit more complex, but it's okay. And the epilog was quaint but not exactly groundbreaking.
