Resumen del Editor

Imagine unleashing your creativity by enjoying the benefits of the type of mental play that helped inspire the theory of relativity. Or evaluating your business climate with the keen observation and open mind that yielded the theory of evolution. The individuals behind these revolutions of thought live on in our collective memory as models for tackling the challenges that lie ahead. The cognitive gap that separates your mind and theirs is smaller than you think, and it can be bridged by passion, focus, and strategy, all of which are yours to develop.

In Discover Your Genius, Michael J. Gelb draws upon the wellspring of history's most revolutionary minds, guiding you to unleash your own creativity through mental play. Searching for the most world-shaking ideas, discoveries, and innovations, Gelb assembled a "genius dream team" comprised of Plato, Filippo Brunelleschi, Christopher Columbus, Nicolaus Copernicus, Queen Elizabeth I, William Shakespeare, Thomas Jefferson, Charles Darwin, Mahatma Gandhi, and Albert Einstein. Each of these individuals embody a special "genius" characteristic that you are invited to integrate into daily life. Through fascinating, accessible biographies, you'll develop a personal relationship with each of these geniuses, and learn how to use his or her guiding principle to enrich the quality of your life.

Will Keep Discovering!

I love this book! The author narrates with enthusiasm and excitement that adds to the material. And what fascinating material! I love the way he illustrates the characteristics of each of his "dream team" of geniuses, brings those qualities into current usage and application, then recommends exercises for the reader in order to make the characteristics your own. After his section on Shakespeare, I purchased Shakespeare's sonnets. I read one nearly every day and even memorized a few favorites. I will listen to this book over and over, deepening my own experience with the material.

Not very good

After reading hundreds of self-help books I found that some are written to really integrate some unique and inspiring insights but others kind of just fill up pages. I really liked the other book by this author on da Vinci I was pretty disappointed by this book… It didn’t seem like he did much research or effort other than just writing a lot of words and filling up pages
