Riveting and Obsessive

Dirty Secret is an awesome read. The relationship between Sienna and Cameron is a true friends to lovers story. Once you start listening you won’t want to stop until you reach the end. And then, like me, you’ll listen to it all over again. Dirty Secret is a MUST have in your library.

Cam and Sienna a forbidden love

Dirty Secret is book 6 in the dirty series and even though you can read it as a stand alone I would suggest you read books 4 and 5 prior to reading it. The characters are all connected and you will enjoy the book so much more knowing who everyone is.
Sienna is 18 but she sure is full of herself. She speaks her mind and is very curious about sex when Cam is given the job of watching out for her, she is in awe of him. They had already developed somewhat of a friendship but when he comes to the states for his cousins wedd10ing things explode. Cam is 10 years older than Sienna and he carries a secret from his past that won’t allow him to love a woman. Will Sienna be the one to change that?
Crystal has once again brought us a story that some may be able to relate to and in my opinion, she did an awesome job. Cam and Sienna’s story is full of banter, angst, secrets, demons and holy moly the heat!!! I couldn’t put it down. I love to read and listen with whisper sync and this book was worth that audible credit. I love the accent of Robbie Martino he brings Cam to life and Vanessa Edwin does a great job as well. Great job! I received an arc copy of the book and I am freely leaving my review. Thanks for another great book Crystal.

flirting, sexy, torment

This story is about Cam and Sienna. Cam is Ty's cousin and Sienna is Indigo's younger sister who is 18 and has just started college. They have been thrown together by Ty because he believes that Sienna might be feeling left out due to the upcoming nuptials. These two have had an incredible chemistry from the moment they met and as the days go by it just seems to be getting worst. Cam has been warned by his cousin to stay away from Sienna due to a past circumstance that he feels is too close to being a role reversal. Unfortunately due to that abuse of a trusted adult as a teen Cam is now extremely guarded and somewhat less mature emotionally than Sienna. As they both share and get more intimate together they grow and learn to trust each. It really is a very good book to where the banter between the two of them is the best part
This audio was my introduction to Robbie Martino and i honestly thought he did a great job portraying Cam's sexy voice (the one in my head at least).

This is the 6th book in the Dirty series and it did not disappoint. This is Cam and Sienna’s story. For those who don’t know Sienna is Indigos little sister and Cam is Ty’s cousin.
Sienna is an 18 yrs old college student who loves to talk football and sex all the time if possible. She is infatuated by Cam from the beginning but tries to hide it as well as she can because she knows neither her sister or future brother-in-law will approve of her attraction for Cam. Cam is a bit damaged from something that he experienced as a teenager so he has a guard around himself due to the way it deeply effected him. He would have never would have thought that it would take an 18 yea old to make him realize he needed to change his life. Their story is a bit messy really complicated and yet heartbreakingly beautiful.

An unfiltered college girl and a damaged and jaded sexy Brit!

I couldn’t wait to see what would happen with Cam and Sienna after Dirty Wedding. Sienna was still completely unfiltered, which led to moments of hilarity and some uncomfortable ones, too. I really liked Cam. He was such a complex and complicated man. Damaged and jaded by his past.
Kudos to Sienna for being brave and putting herself out there!
The story was great. Vanessa Edwin was fantastic! I enjoyed Robbie Martino’s portrayal of Cam with his very sexy British accent, but must admit that his portrayal of Sienna was distracting for me.

Book four follows Ian Hunt, who is thirty-seven here; it is one year after his story took place. Book five follows his younger brother Tyler Hunt, who is thirty-one here. Book six follows Cameron Hunt, who is Ian and Ty’s younger cousin. Cam’s story overlaps some with Ty’s story. Ty is introduced in Ian’s book; Cam and Sienna are both introduced in Ty and Indigo’s story. Both earlier couples appear in this book, too. Most of this story revolves around Ty and Indigo’s wedding.

The Hunt men’s stories follow similar patterns. The men have experienced a devastating breakup or relationship of sorts, making them too damaged for a real relationship. They all fall for a younger woman who experienced loss and hardship at a young age. The men have some rather unique desires in the bedroom. They were all raised working class and are self-made men. Their fathers served in the military. They are now wealthy and highly eligible British bachelors. None of the Hunt men intend to fall in love. They are black, and their love interests are white. Note that though the stories are interracial, that is not the subject of the story. There is nothing heavy or negative. These are refreshing stories about falling in love despite the baggage that weighs these men down. Ian and Ty are loyal brothers, though they are capable of keeping secrets, too. Cam considers himself a loyal cousin and friend, but discovers himself capable of keeping a secret as well.

FROM DIRTY DESIRES, BOOK FOUR:.

This is Ian's story. Ian is Shepard's good friend and business partner. The story takes place mostly in June, about three months after Jasmine entered Shep's life again (from book three). Ian is introduced in Dirty Husband as an adrenaline junkie having an affinity for teaching virgins about the world of pleasure. He is a complex character. Married nine years, he was humiliated to discover everyone knew about the affair Laura had behind his back for about two years. After sleeping with most of London, Ian flew across the Atlantic four years ago to get as far away from his ex as possible. Manhattan became his primary residence, and he began pursuing virgins. Thirty day agreements, then he walks away. No attachments. He becomes fixated on one virgin in particular that he follows online, but she has no idea who he is. Little does he realize that Eve Miller, the mature writer he follows online, is just eighteen – half his age.

Tyler Hunt is Ian’s younger brother. He runs the company’s London office, where he lives near their mom. He is a seemingly less burdened and more dangerous version of Ian. Ty is playful. He has tattoos and wears jeans – though like Ian, he wears suits to work. He is not quite as wealthy as his older brother, but he certainly does very well. He was recently engaged to a beautiful socialite, which remains a touchy subject. Rory was a good girl from old money. After two years together, she suddenly broke up with Ty. At the last minute Rory decided she didn't love him anymore. He flies to the states and celebrates his thirtieth birthday visiting Ian in the Hamptons and meeting Eve.

FROM DIRTY WEDDING, BOOK FIVE:

This book opens in May, about eleven months after the opening of book four. Most of the story takes place within that month.

Indigo Nicole Simms, twenty-two, has been holding down the fort for years. She works in an upscale Midtown bar, where wealthy men routinely proposition her for money. It is sometimes tempting, but she hasn’t been desperate enough to seriously consider any offers just yet. Her father died in her youth, and after that Indie practically raised her little sister Sienna herself while caring for her mother, who finally died of a broken heart two years ago. Indie is determined to see that Sienna has every opportunity that she herself never had. As eighteen year old Sienna prepares to graduate from high school and begin at NYU in the fall, Indie struggles with her overprotective instincts. The idea of letting go and watching Sienna turn into a woman terrifies her, as does the idea of suddenly being alone.

Tyler Hunt, thirty, needs to get married. After nearly a year of playing the field in the aftermath of Rory breaking their engagement, his reputation has taken a hit. His publicist has a list of suitable socialites, but none of them will do. He wants Indie. He spends much of his time in New York these days, and his mind inevitably drifts to Indie. The summer they spent together three years ago was never far from his mind since. Neither had any interest in marriage at the time. She had responsibilities and he had to return to London. He had promised to call when he returned to New York, but instead sent her a message apologizing. He had met someone else.

When Sienna’s soccer scholarship falls through, Indie wonders if she might have to resort to accepting one of her customers’ propositions to pay the tuition. Out of the blue, though, she gets called to a meeting Ty. He makes an offer of marriage too good for Indie to refuse. It is a business transaction, certainly. It is to improve his image. But separately, they both know that their attraction for one another is as intense as it ever was. They are both obsessive about the other, yet guarded at the same time. Ty needs Indie, to whom no other woman compares. He is not capable of love, but he can commit to taking care of her. Ty comes into their renewed relationship with a lot of new baggage. He had wanted to marry Rory for love. His unconventional promise not to love Indie sets up their emotional story. The couple eventually earns a happy ending.

This book opens in July, during Ty and Indie’s engagement (from book five). Ty’s cousin Cam and Indie’s sister Sienna enjoy easy banter and an openly flirtatious relationship when brought together via the engaged couple – but all is presumed to be in jest. Cam leaves for his home in London, but returns two months later for the two weeks leading up to the wedding. Much of the story takes place during the leadup to the September nuptials.

Cameron Hunt, twenty-nine, is always in a suit. He is a tech mogul, the CFO in Europe for his cousins’ company and a very eligible bachelor. His focus in on venture capital. He came from a middle class home, though, and his parents are still working class. His father is in the military and his mother is a nurse. He got lucky when his cousins, Ian and Ty, invited him to join them at their startup. He has always looked up to his cousins and has been especially close with Ty. Seeing them both settle down is a bit of a surprise, and that they are both making Manhattan their residence is yet another. They had both gone through epic breakups, but that isn’t exactly why Cam won’t ever be settling down. His problems go way back – to age fourteen and a woman ten years his senior. It was every teenage boy’s dream, but it messed with his head. Cam doesn’t feel what he hears others describe feeling after intimacy with a woman. Instead he feels used and empty. And he never wants to anything to do with the woman again.

Sienna, eighteen, loves soccer and reality TV. She is headstrong and courageous, and never hesitates to say what she really thinks about something. Her directness may not be for everyone, but her honesty is refreshing. She loves her older sister Indigo, with whom she is very close. Her father died over a decade ago, leaving her mother to raise her and Indie alone. Only it didn’t work out that way. Their mother had been completely overcome by her grief, so it was largely Indie who raised Sienna and cared for their mother. Their mother finally died of a broken heart two years ago, and Indie is determined to see that Sienna has every opportunity that she herself never had. But Indie is marrying Ty soon, so things are changing. Ty is concerned that Sienna might feel lost or left out when he marries her sister; he thus moves her into an apartment three floors below them so that the two sisters can remain close. Sienna just graduated from high school. She turned down several soccer scholarships in order to stay in New York near Indie while attending NYU and studying math. And even though it means she won’t be competing on a division one team, she still devotes herself to the sport she loves. She is an athlete, determined to keep fit and maintain discipline. That means no boys and no alcohol. But her sister only gets married once, so she plans to bend some of the rules.

Sienna’s future brother-in-law is thoughtful enough to ask his cousin Cam to pal around with her and keep her company while he and Indie are focused on wedding preparations. Sienna may be innocent when it comes to experience with men, but nothing ever stops her from going for what she wants – even if it is forbidden. She knows flirting with Cam is playing with danger, but when the two get near one another it seems neither can help themselves. They play it off like it is a game to them, but Cam’s flirting isn’t always fair. And when he takes it too far, she warns him that she won’t hold back. She wants him to be her first. Cam warns Sienna that he isn’t good for more than a night, and that one night is all that it will take to ruin her for any other man. But Sienna is fearless and willing to take the gamble. They put their relationships with family at risk when they finally agree to cross the line. They had made promises not to get involved with one another, to avoid any messy entanglements, but it seems common sense goes out the door when the pair gets together. They agree to a dirty secret – and they know that is all it will ever be. They love Ty and Indie. They won’t let their tryst ruin the bride and groom’s special day, nor allow their secret to ruin any relationships.

Cam and Sienna share of love of soccer that helps them forge a bond despite their eleven year difference in age. Sienna may only be eighteen, but she is bold and outspoken. With Cam as the life of the party, they are a natural fit. Cam doesn’t do relationships, but because the idea of a relationship between him and Sienna is forbidden, he feels free to be flirty and carry on with her since nothing can become of it. Cam is somewhat tortured by his attraction to her, but is at liberty to relax and get to know her – something he just doesn’t do with women. The more time they spend together, whether flirting or otherwise, the more adorable she is in his eyes. It is probably a combination of her innocence, her proclivity to dirty flirting, and her love of soccer that allows Sienna to somehow sneak past the walls that keep Cam sheltered from relationships. Sienna is a little lost as she watches her sister find love. And she is tired of being the fifth wheel around Ian, Eve, Ty, and her sister. At eighteen, so much is changing around her, and she needs to find her grounding. Cam does that for her. His strength and experience combined with their shared love of soccer and running make him an ideal match. And her innocence may be the key to him finally moving on from the past. They help one another move forward in life, despite the years and miles that separate them. Their journey as a couple has challenges, but they eventually find a happy ending.

Wow! There are so many emotions experienced while reading this book. Loss and hardship. Growing up too soon and learning to let go. Jealousy and inadequacy. Family loyalty and insecurity. Fear of rejection and fear of vulnerability. Heartbreak and passion. Love and abuse. Both Cam and Sienna are very complex. Each was forced to grow up too soon. Despite Cam being eleven years Sienna’s senior, he is emotionally immature in comparison to her. Due to the abuse and manipulation at the hands of a trusted adult in his youth, he never developed a healthy understanding about love and relationships. He has insecurities that he doesn’t understand. Sienna lost both her parents and now fears how losing her sister to marriage with Ty will change things yet again for her. Indie had stepped into the role of a parent to Sienna, and the loss makes her both jealous and insecure no matter how happy she might be for Indie. She is lost and needs desperately to find her own footing.

Cam and Sienna’s forbidden romance is steeped in dirty banter and great chemistry. It is an age gap story as well as a coming of age story. It deals with the emotional scars of abuse to a minor – and in the more unusual case of the victim being a teenage boy. Cam and Sienna push one another’s buttons as well as their limits. Though in different ways, they both missed out on some of the innocence of childhood, and their need for something deep binds them. The intimacy that they share makes it hard to walk away. Yet they must. Their happy ending is not simple or easy.

Cam and Sienna’s story is heavy with flirty banter and emotional baggage as the pair contemplates a forbidden romance that could rock their families. Fans of soccer will enjoy the many references! The story is nicely written. My ARC copy has a few errors that I trust get cleaned up. The plot is fairly simple. The characters are three-dimensional and real. The story is written in first person. The POV alternates between Cam and Sienna. I rate this book 4.5 stars.

As for the Audio: it is well-performed and consistent with the book. The British accent is great. Beware of speeding it up too much as the male narrator speaks quite fast at times.

Best dirty secret ever

Sienna and Cam made sure to scorch my kindle and by eyes. Had fun reading their story and the forbidden made it more enticing. I voluntarily reviewed this Audiobook.

Dirty and delicious

I have been waiting for Cam and Siena’s story since we met them in Ty’s book. While I enjoyed the story, I wish there would have been more interactions with them that wasn’t sexual or alcohol related. You could feel the attraction between the two and they did try to stay away from each other out of respect for his cousin and her sister.

Sometimes you have to follow your heart and let the chips fall where they may. Their journey had many bumps and twists and turns but it was worth it. A woman going after what she wants is always a good thing and Siena didn’t disappoint. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

The narrators did a great job of bringing the story to life. They were believable and brought emotion to the characters. A great job.
