Seriously a Dirty Game

I just loved Dirty game...one that I would definitely play. Written very well and the narration was on point.

Action, Suspense, and Steamy MFM scenes!

This is the first book in The Anti-Hero Chronicles Series. The story has action, suspense, and steamy MFM scenes. Echo, Lucas and Leo share an instant attraction and a sizzling hot chemistry! Terrific Story & Listen🎧 Intense, Twisted & Steamy!

This is one twisted and intense story and I enjoyed every word of it. This is my first book by Mika Lane and it will not be my last. She is a gifted author, the storylines she created are interesting, they grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated straight to the end. The characters are complex and well developed. I adored Echo Duncan, her dedication to her sister and wanting a better life for her taking a waitressing job in a strip club in Vegas. She catches the eyes of the Boroni twins, Leo and Luca, mobsters in the Vegas syndicate. One night Luca sends her on an errand, she returns to devastation, her boss and others were killed. Luca whisks her away on the premise of her own protection. He sets her up in his home and hooks her up with everything she needs. She is unsure of her situation, Luca gains her trust and he explains all about the game and what he wants. Luca and Leo love their kink, each year one of them choose a girl to bring home for them to play with, they keep them for three months and send them on their way. This year it is Luca’s choice and he did not plan to but he started falling for Echo. I loved how everything plays out in this book, it is well plotted and there is never a dull moment with plenty of drama, some angst, twists, thrilling and suspenseful moments, heartfelt moments and some hot scening and romance. Mika Lane thank you for this great story.

Laurie West is a terrific narrator and voice artist. She does a great job portraying the characters and bringing them to life, giving each their own voice and personality. She sets the perfect tone for the story and adds the right amount of dramatic flair which enhances the story another level. She is an entertaining storyteller and pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the great listen🎧

Luca and Leo, gorgeous mafia twins, save Echo during a hit at her place of employment. Luca sent her out to get a sandwich for him. As payment, they want her to play the game where she will stay with them for three months and do whatever sexy things they want. Luca will be her primary person. Afterwards, she will walk away set for life. This book was so good. There are two villains who appears early on. I am so glad there are other books in this series and I look forward to listening to them. Laurie West did a very good job with the narration. I received this free copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Super story, wonderful narration!!!!

Dirty Game Audiobook by Mika Lane was a story full of danger, intrigue, and sizzling relationships. Luca and Leo are twins that work for the mafia. Echo works as a cocktail waitress at one of their establishments. She witnessed something she shouldn’t have and the twins helped her escape. But, there are other things amiss here….and a romance may be budding….

Entertaining and fun to read…an altogether different experience to listen to!!! I’ve read the book, but I thoroughly enjoyed the narration by Laurie West. She had me engrossed in this story all over again!!!! What a great story and performance!!!

Loved the heroine; over-the-top storyline

I'm very grateful that this book's synopsis included the fact that this would be an over-the-top romance. If not for that little heads up, I probably would not have liked this book. Forewarned is forearmed.

I really liked Echo (despite her ridiculous name). She was sensible and pragmatic, and when I had a thought that something was stupid, she often voiced the same sentiments immediately after I thought it. Honestly, it was refreshing to have a heroine call out the bulls*** that can often be found in a romance novel.

That said, this book was over-the-top and didn't make much sense for the scenarios that occurred, especially when it came to "The Game." It probably took three-quarters of the book before we even found out what exactly "The Game" was, and, even then, was it really even a game? It felt more like a hook to draw in readers and never delivered, which is also how I felt about the Leo arc.

The biggest issue for me was something that didn't even take up much time in the book itself, but just hit me so wrong. Echo loved her sister, but she referred to her younger sister, who had Muscular dystrophy, as useless. Even though it was in reference in caring for the sisters' mom, this dismissal, which was voiced in less severe terms at other points in the book, really disgusted me. Just because the sister was bound to a wheelchair didn't mean she was useless. I place the blame fully on the author for wanting to create sympathy for Echo in her struggles while leaving her sister as less than a cardboard character.

I listened to the audiobook version of this, and I was pleasantly surprised. The narrator, Laurie West, did a good job with the overall story and Echo, but she did a pretty decent job with the male characters too. I would definitely enjoy listening to Laurie West narrate another romance audiobook.
