At thirty-nine, Leona Accorsi is broke, single, back in school, and living in her sister Carly's basement. She's perfectly content being quirky Auntie Lee to Carly's four children. That is, until Leona's doctor tells her that if she wants to have a child, she'd better do it now.

Leona does want a baby. She always has, but the circumstances have never been right. Now she has a huge decision to make: face motherhood on her own or risk missing out on its rewards.

Unfortunately, she's let her romantic life go stagnant. She barely even knows any single men. She has just a few prospects: a Vietnam vet and partial amputee, his intimidating son, the sweet but troubled man who tutors her niece, and a fellow nursing student she's never actually met.

loved

I loved the story. Allthough as I am finding in most books now too much swearing especially the F word which I hate please clean up your writing not all of us speak in that manner or enjoy it. Even though sometimes it might be appropriate. I think the character was very strong in this much stronger than the people around her that kept telling her she was not.To me she was holding everyone else together with great empathy and positive thinking they just kept giving her negative advice although some of it was true. We can all learn that none of us are perfect and we're all struggling and trying in this world.The narrator was wonderful really made the book alive. Loved it.

Enjoyable. Sympathetic characters. Interesting plot. Overall a satisfying read. I will read her other novel.

Couldn't continue

I couldn't make it past the first chapter. The style of writing was too repetitive and rhetorical.

Entertaining

Narrator was great. A lot of ideas presented really were very thought provoking. Interesting story. Good character development. Got a little bit long at the end!

loved every second

I don't agree with the characters' choices but I loved their flaws. they were very real.

Entertaining story.

I really enjoyed most all of this book except for all of the crude language used by the women. In the real world, I don't know many Mothers, who care about their families who use this kind of language. I was also shocked that a 13 year old would be allowed to be in the room while her Aunt was inseminated! This could have been a very sweet story, filled with lots of wisdom about love and life but all the other stuff ruined it for me.

I love, love, love this book. I guess for me humor, sarcasm is just a must in life. I know there are times we need to be normal or quiet and listen ...but silliness is a must in my book. I look forward to reading more from Loretta soon enough!! YOU feel for Leona ... so many moments pull at heartstrings. such a great listen (or read). Check it out!! ( ;

Adorable wholesome story

You can’t ask for much more in a sweet, romance. There was one “loose end” not tied but I think the point was since the MC didn’t know what happened, we weren’t supposed to either. Either way, very much enjoyed this story and would’ve easily used a credit but got it for free with kindle unlimited.

A must read!

Impeccably done! fantastic plot. fantastic plot and such real characters. this is my new favorite author.

A story filled with HEART(s).

Imperfect characters, not always making the best choices, but ultimately driven by love and motivated by kindness. Definitely a "made me laugh, made me cry" story filled with many characters I can imagine meeting in real life, characters brought to life by the author's wonderful story telling paired with a talented narrator.
