Diana Thompson was raised in poverty by a devout Christian mother, but after her mother’s death, Diana denounces God’s existence, blaming him for not healing her mother. Now Diana’s living the successful life she always dreamed about as a child, but she is still plagued with insecurities that drive her to doubt her husband’s love for her. To make matters worse, she has to deal with the void in her heart from the guilt of an unforgettable act she committed and hid from her husband.

Unlike Diana’s religious upbringing, her best friend, Kendra Staten, was raised by a mother with immoral standards. Against all odds, Kendra gave her life to Christ and strives to be a virtuous wife and first lady at her husband’s church. But Kendra’s faith and integrity will soon be tested by a present tragedy, as well as a past mistake.

Pricilla Battle and Aquila Savino, friends since they were both orphaned as children, are dealing with their own difficulties. Pricilla moves to Raleigh, North Carolina, in search of her true identity, not knowing that the man she falls in loves with just might hold the key. Aquila flees from an abusive husband and moves in with Pricilla. She struggles to pursue a new life for herself. However, she will soon discover that the solace of the new home she cherishes will be short lived.

These four women will have to make some very difficult decisions and search for help from God to get through trying times.

This was a very good story

No the relationship Aquila and Priscilla head and prayed every time they prayed thank god that everything turned out fine

slow and boring at times. Also, even as a believer it's seemed preachy. just my opinion

The Narrator Makes It A Struggle

The storyline was great! The slow reading and monotone was hard to overcome. She did the voices well but paused in the wrong places. It was painful at some points. Overall liked the book and the story.

Slow start but ended well

The book dragged in the beginning… it was hard to remain interested. I sped it up and it helped a little. The ending was better.

I enjoyed this book as I am joyed the past books I hope that the author continue on writing and giving quotes of inspiration from the Bible I’m hoping that everyone will take the time to listen and then she will write or he will write on

the story was realistic, inspiring and just plain great. I loved it! I will listen to it again and again.

Family is where there’s love

The story line was good but too many characters I loved the topics they aren’t talked about enough. Thank you. The narrator could be better too. I recommend this book to anyone over the age of 15

Loved this book!

I loved this story but struggled to finish it due to the narrator. The awkward and often misplaced pauses made me want to stop listening many times. I thought of just buying or borrowing the written book because the story really pulled me in. If the next book has the same narrator, I'll just check my library for the book version.
