Good story, very bad narrator

I love this author. The story is good and the characters are deep and well rounded. But the narrator is absolutely horrible. It was hard to listen to, and I found myself cringing at times to try to avoid the things that she said, and the way she said it the sex scenes were like a little girl talking to you I couldn’t take it. I finished the book. I still love this author.

The story was gripping. the narrator was difficult. She got better as the story went on.

Surprised

I have read many Linda Castillo books. I usually like them. I am not sure if it was the narration or what but the tone and speech seemed on the verge of hysteria much of the time. It became irritating after a while. I realize that this was a book where you were on the edge of of your seat much of the time but it was overdone. I am from the south so possibly the “southern” accent seemed a little much.

Disappointed

The story line had potential, but the narrator was horrible. Too slow, overly dramatic and breathy. I couldn't finish.
