Resumen del Editor

This is one of the largest scholarly works on demonology in decades. It has been reviewed by and given the imprimatur of former Bishop Elden F. Curtiss of the Diocese of Helena, Montana.

This massive work covers all areas of demonology: types and characteristics of evil spirits, demonic activities in the human arena, oppression, possession, and much more!

Michael Freze, S.F.O., has previously written seven nationally-published books on Bible trivia and supernatural phenomena. He is a best-selling author for Our Sunday Visitor (They Bore the Wounds of Christ: The Mystery of the Sacred Stigmata). He has appeared on numerous national television shows as a guest interviewee for his works.

Repetition upon repetition

Let me preface by saying a couple things: a) I am a Christian (but not Catholic); b) this topic is of interest to me; c) I rarely leave reviews beyond a rating; and d) I tend to lend my ratings in a positive light (especially on spiritual topics, that's just my norm).
This title is written from a Catholic perspective. As it mentions, much of the literature out there is from a Protestant perspective. I was interested in hearing another perspective. Of what was presented, the material itself seemed doctrinally sound and mostly scriptural.
That said, I really struggled to get through this title. The first 30 minutes is establishing a basis of authority on which to speak. That's important, but 30 minutes is ridiculous. A significant portion of the book is lists being read... lists of verses, names, qualities, aforementioned examples. Again, all important but that seems to be the emphasis of this title... a bunch of lists. The second to last chapter is a verbatim duplicate of an earlier one, including examples that are literal repeats. (I am too annoyed to go back and find which chapter is duplicated.) When you already know what's about to be said beforehand because you've already heard it, that sums up a lot of this title. It may be more palatable in print, but this title very sadly could have been stated in about a quarter of the time it takes to listen all the way through. The narrator was rather monotone and has a southern drawl (which again, can be nice in certain instances); however, the pronunciation of certain Latin terms were quite off-putting.

Very frank and obscene book

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

This is for the spiritually mature only, some who are less spiritually advanced might find it discouraging to their advance in the Faith.

What was most disappointing about Michael Freze’s story?

The description of the devil's attacks on the Stigmatists and the fact that those who succumb to the demonic possession will die in a state of mortal sin and go to hell.

What aspect of Voice Cat LLC by Doug Spence’s performance would you have changed?

none.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

disappointment, b/c it doesn't hold that much hope for those who yield to the devils' attack.

Any additional comments?

This book is ONLY for the Spiritually mature!
