From the Anthony and Macavity award-winning author of Murder at Five Finger Light.

After healing from knee surgery, Jessie Arnold can’t wait to train for the Iditarod, but she and her dogs must work hard to qualify. Jessie’s practice run goes smoothly until her sled hits a bump along the trail—a dead body. What the kid was doing on a musher's trail with no sled or dogs is anyone’s guess. And in a chilling moment, Jessie realizes that the case hits close to home.

“[Sue Henry’s] grasp of tense storytelling and strong characterization matches her with Sue Grafton. Give her a try—she’ll challenge your powers of perception and deduction.”—The Colorado Springs Gazette©2008 Sue Henry; (P)2008 Books on Tape

Reader was much improved from last book to which I listened. Story was interesting, however it did move slowly. I like the call out to Lee Childs.

Much better pronunciation.

Sue Henry has always been one of my favorite novelists, but this outing she's seems more like she had to come up with a book to fulfill a contract, rather than enthusiastically creating a new entry in her series.

I've been a fan of the Jesse Arnold books for years, but this one wasn't worth the time. The plot was weak, the dialog was stilted and just didn't ring true, and the narrator consistently paused in weird places. I'm disappointed that I used my monthly credit on this one.
