Everything is shipshape at Jake and Ellie’s new waterfront bakery The Chocolate Moose, especially now that the annual Pirate Festival is dropping anchor in their quaint island village of Eastport, Maine. Oh what yummy fun awaits the reader with this clever tale of evil in the wilds of Maine.

A fun listen!

I really enjoy the series but find it hard to believe 2 adult women could do such dumb things so often. Love the reader and her New England accent. It makes the stories so much more real.

5/5---and a great story continues

Jake and Ellie’s are up to their slothing again---to save Jake from going to jail. That's all I'm saying ---Read and you will enjoy.

Never change the narrator, she knows the characters inside and out.
Sarah Graves still has stories to tell without the stories becoming redundant!

Great book

I hadn’t realized this new series was a continuation of the Fixer Upper series. I was so delighted to learn I could continue to enjoy these characters and this charming coastal town of Eastport.
The story read quick while keeping us in the daily lives of all the characters - and introducing new ones. I would really love a Jenny - but without the little interesting holes and in a better color.
Now to go back and finish reading the Fixer Upper series. Can’t wait to see how we arrived at the Mousse.

Implausible at times

I like this series but the constant efforts by the characters to solve all crimes by themselves starts to be slightly implausible at times.

A Little Too Long

Overall interesting but action ramps up so fast and Jake is endangered or hurt just a few too many times for my taste.

Fun idea

Good story, but way too long. It got super annoying. I guess if you read others you would be more invested.

I was a bit disappointed in this book. Jake made horrible decisions and didn't seem like the intelligent character she has been in previous books. I wanted to strangle her at the end. Susan Boyce doesn't help. Her narration is stale and flat. Where is Lindsay Ellison? I hope there is improvement in the next book. I also wonder what happened to Sam? He had so much promise in the first series. I don't know. It seems like I am getting this books out of loyalty.
