Exciting!

I'm glad I found this new mystery series! The plot is exciting, the characters are fascinating, and the story is loaded with adventureous investigation and hilarious twist and turns. I'll definitely read more books in this series!

great book, horrible narrator

In under 5 minutes I wished I could return it because the narrator overacted so horribly. and her lisp is really annoying.

Hair Obsession

While most of this series is entertaining, it seems the female characters are portrayed as rather shallow. Tara's boss Lu (55 plus) is recovering from cancer treatment and oddly more concerned with her beehive hairstyle than enjoying her life after cancer.

Is that a Texas thing? Lu is smart public servant with years of experience and dedication, yet all we learn about Lu is her outdated clothing choices and hairstyle. Sure, it's amusing that she has a distinctive style but surely there is more to Lu.
