Gripping Story & Narration!

Loved this. Both the story and narration were spot on and I couldn’t stop listening. I loved the development of Gordy as a character and her starting to pick up the pieces and move on. Also I had no audio issues at all with my one so don’t know what the other reviewers mean ( maybe something up with your devices?) Highly recommend.

This one was a bit slow

I liked the book before this one however this book had none of what I liked about that book. Very little police procedure or detecting. Plus not a fan of the paranormal.

The narrative

His characters are always entertaining. Read all his books and they’re totally fun and highly realistic

Narrator does a spectacular job again! Book is fantastic, fresh and unexpected twists & turns! Characters and locations are so well written! Thank you!!! I will read these books all again and again!

Disappointing Ending Terrible Narrator

I like the characters and the story was good just disappointed at the flat ending of this one. The other books in this series were definitely more exciting … and the narrator is just awful. She conveys no emotion and seems to be reading one long run-on sentence. Overall a little disappointed in this book. Love this author though!

Disapointed

Not up to the usual standards , takes too long to get tto the actual crime, and in this DI Haig comes across as weak willed and whiney!!

Very slow

I would not recommend. This book was painfully slow. Six chapters went by with nothing but Gordys personal life and nothing about any crime. The audio was flawed. It occasionally had a tinny sound, then sped up or slowed down. I had to adjust the speed more than once. The supernatural angle was also tediously slow.
The only reason I didn’t give it an even lower rating was that I usually like this author, esp Harry Grimm. But Gordy and her emotional trauma over Anna is overdone. I won’t read anymore with Gordy as the main character.

Audio problems destroy joy of listening

As another reviewer said, the speed of narration jumped from fast to slow and could not be fixed. Doing all of audible help suggestions did not resolve the problem. The story was not particularly interesting and I too am weary of Anna. With this early review you can tell I have been a fan of this series, but no longer. If there is a next book I will wait to see if reviews reveal we have moved on from Anna. Not bothered by the supernatural aspects.
