Another Vince Flynn ??

Would you consider the audio edition of Dead Shot to be better than the print version?

I haven't read the book but the audio was great. I haven't enjoyed listening to book this much since Vince Flynn.

What does Donald A. Davis bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I wasn't too happy with his voice nor the voice of the main character. Made him sound dumb.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I enjoyed the entire book.

Any additional comments?

A must read/listen !!

Awesome book!

Kyle Swanson is the baddest Operator ever. I'd love to see a series done with Swanson, Dewey Andreas, Nick Woods, The Campus Operators. that would be a better team up than The Avengers!

Jack Coughlin and Donald Davis are two of my very favorite authors to read! I hope they will be doing another series like the Sniper series very soon! Like Daniel's is great to listen to and does excellent voices and has a superb cadence! Just pure excellent.

Killer story of a Killer Operator

Interesting story that weaves action, strategy and intrigue through each chapter. There were really no slow chapters and the characters were depicted in clear roles as well as the twists and turns of the epilogue leaving the door ajar for ......

Nearly Perfect

This story and writing has everything. Smartly written with good details of action, characters, battle field, weapons without going overboard. Good character development, you cheer & root for them. I love that Kyle is always cool under pressure, smart, thinking many moves ahead. I enjoyed the background and contextual information regarding why certain decisions where made or why things happened. Love the inclusion of a competent female officer (Sybel Summers) and the mature handling of the topic of females working side by side competently with other military personnel. The story is well told, moves along, has lots of action. There were two negatives and why it this book is only nearly perfect and not perfect. First is the unexplained 'capture' of Kyle. More than once the agents state that they caught him but how? One minute they are evacuating the area before the authorities arrive and the next they are tasering him. Doesn't make sense. The second is the ending with Juba (the epilogue) . I don't want to spoil it, but lets just say it is a bit cliche and I actually think it detracts from a nearly perfect story. I can't wait to listen to the next Kyle Swanson story.

Still question the use of Luke Daniels

Maybe my views are tainted by Daniels performance in the first book. However his voice kind of irritates me. The story is good. Daniels performance is better. That’s why I gave a three star review for performance because last time I gave him a two star.

And The Beat Goes On

The story continues, the sequels just get better this book has a great balance oh human nature love, hate, greed, cold blooded cruelty to men, and supposed good guys justifying sadistic behavior.

The character I have enjoyed from the get go is Double O. Overbearing, and obnoxious he knows about love for his fellow combatants.
Try these books, you'll enjoy the drama

kinda pointless

spoilers ahead,

Do you remember when Amy told Sheldon that Indiana Jones was a pointless movie because the national still cgot the ark and Jones still had nothing at the end? yea that is this book exactly. Juba accomplished everything he wanted to except killing Kyle. Everything. and lived in the end. very disappointing

Written By A Marine Sniper?

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

This an odd series of books (I've listened to 3 so far). The stores are interesting, although like all thrillers they strain credulity. The characters are 3 dimensional and likable (or unlikable when necessary). But there are so many bizarrely inexplicable errors and omissions that it is difficult not to laugh (or scream) at times. The Omissions: This is not Stephen Hunter with all of fascinating "inside baseball" details about barrel harmonics, spin drift and terminal ballistics. It is overtly vague about all things that pertain to firearms and their use. In the books an AK-47, M40A1 and Dragunov sniper rifle all shoot a "7.62 round". Which is true, kind of. They shoot 7.62x39, 7.62x51 and 7.62x54 respectfully. These are different rounds with different applications. It's kind of like saying that a Camry, Corvette and an Indy Car all have engines. The Errors: Why would an M40A1, which is built from a Remington Model 700, have a modified WInchester M70 floor plate? Where do you get a flash hider that "eats up" the report of .338 Lapua round? (Come to think of it, where do you get a suppressor that does that?) How do you shoot someone with a .50 caliber bullet from a rifle that is chambered in 7.62x51? (You have to span books 2 and 3 for this nugget). Why would 2 separate marines use the Army expression of enthusiasm "Hooah", instead of the Marine Corps equivalent "Oorah"? Why would the best Spec Ops troops in the world shoot the world's most deadly terrorist, blow up the building he was in and then not sift through the rubble to make sure he's dead (he's not). Jack Coughlin was a Marine Scout Sniper, one of the best. But I find it difficult to believe that he has much of anything to do with the writing of these books. And he certainly does not proof-read them. That being said, I'll probably listen to a couple more.
