In the end, the only law is survival.

A solar super storm shatters civilization overnight. Now, the price of survival is written in blood.

U.S. Marshal Cody Greer is stranded deep in the Montana wilderness with a fugitive in tow, where the line between lawman and outlaw begins to blur.

Emma Greer, alone at home with her infant daughter, barely knows her new neighbors but she sees what others can't: they must organize or perish.

After a betrayal ended his military career, former Army Ranger Caleb Frost chose a different path: robbing banks. Now, his luck is about to run out.

When yesterday's enemies might be tomorrow's salvation, can they find their way through the darkness beneath the Ravaged Skies?

Darkest Light delivers gritty realism and brutal choices in this character-driven novel with heroes who bleed for every inch. Perfect for fans of William Stone (Surviving the Fall), Jack Hunt (EMP Survival), and Tara Ellis (The Forgotten Coast), Darkest Light plunges readers into a world where ordinary people, stripped of everything familiar, must rebuild their world—and themselves..

I am not at all a fan of post-apocalyptic thrillers. But at least this one doesn't have zombies! I agree with the authors grandmother about that. I'm so glad this book is finished. It was so well written. So real. With real characters, real problems, real scary situations. The narration of Bobby Garrison brought it all to life. 5 stars for him. 4 stars for the book bc it has a very sharp cliffhanger. I might have to get book 2, even tho I don't want to. I need to find out how these wonderful people fair.

I was gifted this Audiobook from the author through Story Origin. This is my honest review.

I was enthralled in this story from the opening paragraphs until the very end. The tale reminded me once again of how human beings often have preconceived ideas about others until those individuals are forced by circumstances to struggle together against almost insurmountable odds. I liked Cody Greer, his wife Emma, and Caleb Frost as their stories became tangled like a skein of yarn. When the story ended on a cliffhanger, I was upset as now I have to wait for the next book to find out the rest of the story. I was entertained by Bobby Garrison's narration as his performance kept my attention. I was given a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which reflected my honest opinions regarding this audiobook.

Complex characters, tense action sequences. Keeps you engaged through an (unfortunately) very plausible sequence of events.

My first and only complain is that I needed to have a female voice in this audiobook, the story was faultless and to be honest I was rooting for Caleb, and I can see that far down the story he will face his nightmare… I did like the characters, they felt real and likeable, in here we have a couple with a new baby that had to move miles away from any family support, to make things worse this new couple had the husband in a plane during the CME, and to be fair, where he with someone else than not Caleb, he would have died… after this we see the story through Emma the wife and young mother, Cody her husband and the Marshall that was in the plane getting Caleb to face justice. And with this CME everything changed for everyone… what was sure got very uncertain, and Caleb only wants to get back to his sister and her 2 children….

I did like it, and the person that was reading the audiobook did a good job, like I said, I only missed not having a female voice to read Emma point of view, and other females in the story, but it was a good experience, last year I have read another ARC with a plane crash, but the person was so prepared for that event, that it almost looked like they were sport billy with a bag of wonders, like I said, I did enjoy this story way more, because the characters felt real and likeable.

Ohhh a trigger warning, it's a serious story, people die… some you’re not expecting them to, and others feel like a blow, but when and how is for me to know and for you to find out.

I like that this book is intertwined with multiple books from different authors. Ravaged Skies Universe is a shared world with 15 apocalyptic authors. All first books can be read as standalones. Each author begins their story with the event and readers follow their journeys from there. A.M. Greever takes you on a journey after a major natural disaster, with relatable, characters, and unbelievable storyline. The story explores the relationship between a law man and a bank robber who isn’t what he appears. I don’t wanna ruin it for anyone, but it’s got a heck of a cliffhanger ending … can’t wait to read the second book. (Please tell me there is a second book 😳) Do yourself a favor and read Darkest Light -

It has been awhile since I have enjoyed an audiobook this much! The story felt realistic to the situation, which made it easy to get pulled into the world and the struggles the characters faced. The pacing kept me engaged, and I appreciated how believable the scenarios were for a post-apocalyptic survival story. The narration was smooth and well done, adding to the overall experience without being distracting. Definitely a strong start to the series, and I’m looking forward to the next installment.

Received as any audio review copy from Story Origin, this is an honest review. Beautifully narrated by Bobby Garrison... Darkest Light is a harrowing realistic falling into dystopian thrill ride as the convenient world that's been known to Emma, Cody and Caleb suddenly no longer exists. Survival is on a knife's edge as humanity both comes together to help one another at the same rips itself apart; and showing the darker scars that desperation brings forth. Who anyone once was doesn't matter but what each person can do going forward into the unknown. Highly recommended.

If you're looking for a post-apocalyptic thriller that's going to glue your headphones to your ears, you need to grab Darkest Light right now. Seriously, this book hooked me from the very first minute, and I couldn't stop listening.
The central concept is brilliantly executed: a devastating, instantaneous EMP hits, and suddenly, three people's lives are torn apart. You've got U.S. Marshal Cody Greer, his fugitive detainee, Caleb Frost, and Cody's wife, Emma, who is home with their newborn. They're instantly separated by the chaos.
What follows is an intense and deeply human story. It's a powerful test of survival, forcing the Marshal and the captive to reluctantly rely on each other to survive, while Emma is out there fighting for her own life and her baby’s, completely alone.
The action is relentless, the twists come fast, and the author does a phenomenal job of building a completely believable world that unravels in the blink of an eye. The emotional stakes are incredibly high, and it really makes you think about how quickly our society could crumble.
If you love a top-tier disaster novel that's full of suspense and heart, make sure you download Darkest Light. It's a gripping, must-read listen. And honestly? I'm already counting down the days until the next book in the series drops!
Disclaimer: I did receive an advance copy of this audiobook from the author, but my enthusiasm is 100% my own!
