Miss Shaw appears to fulfill every single item on Timothy's list - unlike Maryann who has brown hair, brown eyes, lacks delicate features, and possesses a laugh that is definitely unladylike.

But when Timothy and Miss Shaw begin courting, Timothy realizes something profound. He'd rather spend his time with Maryann. But can he trust his judgment when his heart has led him wrong so many times before?

It is only when Maryann leaves the London season early, that Timothy realizes that he had truly fallen in love with her and that his list of requirements were nothing but fantasy. If he hopes to build a strong relationship, Timothy must convince Maryann that she is the very woman he'd been looking for all along - before it is too late.

Sweet and chaste. Beautifully romantic. As with all romance novels, you know the ultimate ending within the first chapter, but its the route that it takes to get there that carries the weight.

Funny and sweet

I love a story with humor and a strong heroine. This novel has both-yay!

Unique storyline

I love a strong female character, and I love this one. She was confident, intelligent , and empathetic without being overbearing.
The storyline was great too!

Clean Romance

The characters had good depth. Not cut and dry...enough story line to keep you on your toes.

Made me think

This was a great 2nd installment to the series. Timothy and Maryann had a great friendship. They were honest from the beginning and I feel like that gave the book a very interesting twist. The book made me think about things I hadn't before, such as how a man learned to be a gentleman and manage his estate with no one to teach him those things. I really loved Maryann as a character. She's flawed and wants to make sure everyone knows it, because that's real and normal.

Love the “not so perfect” woman!

So nice to have a protagonist that is not a bombshell beauty. What a wonderful love story, and again (as usual) a terrific narration by Justine Eyre. I pick all of my audible books by the narrator now, and she is one of my top choices. I hope this author is paired with another great narrator, because I really did enjoy this book.

I like a nice easy read that I can follow and where I can easily identify each character. This is the second book in this series and I’m hooked

Great series

I've heard the first three and can't wait to hear the fourth. The first one is my favorite so far but this one is still excellent. Loved the storyline. The narration is beyond fantastic. This was a charming book

Rimance

Nice story, easy to follow. Narrator easy to listen to. Not generally a fan of romance but this one helped while away gardening hours.

I loved this book. It was so easy to visualize thanks to the wonderful voice of Justine Eyre! The story was new and well written.
