Resumen del Editor

Arizona started a new life when his birth daddy, Gaston Bondurant, found him living with a foster family and facing criminal charges for assaulting his abusive stepfather. Plucked from the squalor of rural Acadiana, Arizona was thrust into New Orleans high society and an elite New England boarding school.

Home for the summer, Arizona sets out to find his younger brothers and sister, who were scattered to different places when their family was torn apart. Along the way, he reunites with his 10th-grade sweetheart, Preston Montclair, who still holds a torch for him.

But Arizona is struggling to figure out the man he’s supposed to be. He’s got an obligation to his daddy, who wants to mold him as his heir, but he’s also got a responsibility to his wayward siblings. It feels like he’s swimming against the rapids, trying to do both while figuring out if he belongs with his boyhood love or an educated man who can help him with his dream of being a famous writer.

Wow!

I love this series, beautifully written and performed. It’s such a compelling story - young love, growing pains. I really love how fearless Arizona tackles his world: his family, his relationships and his social/political convictions.

Gabriel Michael gives another stellar performance. I look forward to hearing more from him.

Bring on book 3!!

Arizona's story continues.......

Daddy's Boy is Book 2 in the Arizona series and needs to be enjoyed in order. In this book Arizona finds himself living with his birth Daddy and attending boarding school. He's trying to be himself and figure out where he fits in his new privileged life. Arizona is also worried about his siblings and sees them when he can. This is definitely a coming of age story as Arizona gets really to graduate high school and figure out what's next in his life's journey. I was glad Arizona and Preston reunited. They were such good friends. Maybe there is a future for them. I've really enjoyed this series and look forward to the next book and to where Arizona might find himself.
Narrator Gabriel Michael does another amazing job in this series. He has the perfect voice for Arizona especially since this story is told from Arizona's point of view. I also enjoyed the interview treat at the end of the book.

Wow!

Fabulous story, great narration. I didn’t realize this was the second book in a series when I bought it so I had to back up and get the first one five minutes in. Really glad I did. I usually don’t like period pieces from this time period so it was a total fluke I even bought it and I’m seriously glad I did. I feel like I discovered a great new author and a narrator that is also new to me. I’m for sure looking into what else they have to offer. BUY IT!!! You won’t regret it.

Thought provoking

I absolutely love this authors writing style! If you are looking for a audiobook that you are unable to stop listening to choose this series. Arizona's story is heartbreaking, heart warming and inspiring. Listening to this young man's challenges and optimism in a time in his life that just figuring out ones self is a struggle amazes me. We have all been that awkward teen trying to figure out who and where we belong, Arizona faces this with such conviction and self awareness in a time period that made it so hard for him to be himself. The author made this character real, which is a feat in itself, while touching on hard topics, such as aids, lack of love, bullying, hate crimes and sexual relationships with adults, all in a time period when most gay men were afraid to even let their family know about their sexual preference. Im looking forward to seeing Arizona grow. Purchase this series you will not regret it.
