Resumen del Editor

New York Times best seller Brennan’s latest novel featuring FBI Agent Lucy Kincaid finds her searching for a missing child in Cut and Run.

"Brennan [is] a master." (Associated Press)

FBI Agent Lucy Kincaid is dead-set on solving a cold case - even if the original investigators stonewall her every step of the way. A violent storm has uncovered the remains of a family that authorities assumed fled the country years ago to avoid prosecution. But the body of the youngest Albright son never turned up. If the child is dead, why wasn’t his body found with his parents? If he’s alive, where has he been...and what does he know? Now, Lucy and her partner, Nate, must reconstruct an old crime to find a missing child in the present day.

"Can’t-put-it-down suspense." (Fresh Fiction)

Meanwhile, investigative reporter Maxine Revere is called to San Antonio. A confessed killer of a young woman named Victoria has recanted his statement, which opens the door to a whole new world of secrets and betrayal. Max hires Sean Rogan, Lucy’s husband and a seasoned PI, to help. The discovery that Victoria might be connected to the Albright family leads Max, Sean, and Lucy to the darkest corridors of corporate crime. But how can they untangle this complex web to find justice for the victims...and the killer in their midst?

Great series, annoying narrator

I really like this series. The narrator has almost ruined it for me. Her melodrama and interpretation is like fingers on a chalkboard. The narration was so grating that it took away from the book. I’m going to have to go back to reading these in print.

Narrator is not good

Storyline was great! characters were great. The narrator was horrible. Every single character sounds the same, you cannot tell who is who. But the book itself is fantastic!

Awesome story-as usual

The Lucy Kincaid series is one of the best I listen to. This particular book seems to be about 1/2 Lucy Kincaid 1/2 Max Revere.
Thrilled about Max & Ryan. I hope their stories develop as well as Lucy & Sean.

I couldn't finish this.

The story sounds interesting, but I couldn't get in to the narrator. Just not my style.

Maxine one of major characters- almost ruins the entire book.

I love the Lucy Kincaid series. This book is like the others fast paced , chasing bad guys, and all other plots of Lucy’s books.

But I’m writing this because I strongly dislike the character of Maxine Revere “max” from Allison Brennan’s other series- she’s the worst main character. I avoid her series bc of her character. For this book-Sean is helping Max on a case and sides with max ALL the time putting Lucy in sticky situations with FBI and completely blindsides his wife for this annoying bossy self centered “reporter” who thinks she’s a crime god that claims to care about exposing lies for “seeking truth!!” But yeah right, she just wants to write books and have cases to talk about on her stupid crime show. Max stomps her way into the middle of things in this book and Sean straight up manipulates Lucy to help out of a case bc both Lucy’s and Max’s cases end up being connected. and the plot makes sense but max is 50% of the book. she’s extremely pretentious, demanding, selfish, & manipulative. her part in story is intriguing but her character almost ruins the entire book. I feel like she should 100% be kept OUT of Lucy’s series.

Totally biased and a very aggressive review for me over a fictional character hahah but if you like Max character or don’t care you’ll love this book!

Horrible Narration Ruins Story

The terrible narration absolutely oblierates what would have been a great story. The whiny breathless delivery is obnoxious and no effort was made to differentiate the voice of each character.

The story was lost to the incompetence of the narrator. Lucy is supposed to be in her late 20s from California and she sounds like a middle age Jewish housewife.
